Common practice to call for backup with an uncooperative or non-compliant person. It is unknown if the person will escalate the situation or want to fight. Better safe than sorry.

I watched the entire thing hours ago. The officer called for backup when the fool started his Sovcit nonsense. Good call on his part.

Calling for backup was for forcibly taking him out of the car without injuries. Chase didn't let it work out that way, though.
