Twitter CEO Elon Musk called GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s party affiliation into question Tuesday after McConnell condemned Fox News for publishing videos recorded in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, McConnell trashed Fox News’ Tucker Carlson for publishing new footage of the Capitol building from the Jan. 6, 2021 riot that undermined the Democrats’ narrative of a “deadly insurrection.”
“With regard to the presentation on Fox News last night, I want to associate myself entirely with the opinion of the chief of the Capitol Police about what happened on January 6th,” McConnell said.
Hours earlier, Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger sent a memo to his department that called Carlson’s coverage “filled with offensive and misleading conclusions.”
Musk responded to McConnell’s remarks on Twitter.
“I keep forgetting which party he belongs to,” Musk wrote.
McConnell was far from the only Senate Republican to rebuke Carlson’s coverage on Capitol Hill. Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer, North Carolina Sen Thom Tillis, South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds, and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham all condemned Fox News for airing the raw footage of the Capitol riot that exposed the deception campaign run by the House Select Committee on Jan. 6.
McConnell survived a challenge to his perch in leadership last fall from Florida Sen. Rick Scott. Ten Republican senators voted against the Kentucky lawmaker’s re-election as Senate leader after McConnell sabotaged GOP efforts to capture a congressional majority in 2022.

Mitch has been in DC for so long he forgot long ago like most of the career politicians
Mitch needs to GO. Is it true that Murdoch shut down Tucker’s release of the video?
Mitch is from the “Drop Your Pants and Bend Over for the Democrats” old school. A real “Don’t Rock The Boat” kinda guy.
Thee is only one party in D.C., the uniparty. And they ain't representing conservatives that's for sure.
China Mitch is a RepubliCrat.
Unless Republicans can agree to not vote for people like McConnell, regardless of the short term consequence, we will not recover from the poison RINOs inject into the System.
And so are many other like John “aw shucks” Kennedy. He talks a good game when there are no significant consequences. In the end, he’s Uniparty.
Mitch and Chuck both belong to the “Get rich quick from taxpayer money party”. Neither one of them represent anyone but themselves.
They all are. The only way the GOP wakes up is when conservatives vote only for conservatives and not RINOs. Once they lose some elections they will figure it out.
It’s not difficult, McConnell is 100% Uniparty.
That’s because he’s from the Swamp Party and utterly corrupt and filthy rich from scheming money like the FTX dirty money payoff he received
There is only one party in D.C., the uniparty.

People still can’t grasp the fact the Republican party full of lying lawyers and posers.
Mcconnells’ no different than romney, cheney, swalwell, Kinzinger, Graham and on and on.......all the same .....one big barrel of snakes
McConnell is 81, nature will soon take its course.
The question is “Who is in wing that can take his place?”.
Is there a true Kentucky conservative that can take his place?
Perfect time to seize the seat, the “newby” will not have any seniority. The main Kentucky benefactors of McConnell’s seniority largess will be weakened. There only choice is Rand Paul, who I hope won’t be as cooperative.
The GOP is past its “use by” date.
Mitch, is you an old man or an old woman? I forget.
“McConnell was far from the only Senate Republican to rebuke Carlson’s coverage on Capitol Hill. Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer, North Carolina Sen Thom Tillis, South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds, and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham”
At least we know who not to vote for or contribute to.
Meanwhile, the news industry unites in defending Tucker Carlson and freedom of the press to shed light on an important topic. JK.
Mitch needs to go back to his old Chinese home.
