Russia is welding ageing naval turrets onto old armoured vehicles to make crude tanks as Vladimir Putin’s forces face worsening arms shortages.
The crudely engineered vehicles are being deployed in a likely attempt to shoot down Ukrainian drones as the armed forces grapple with crippling shortages of fighting machines and ammunition.

New footage from an undisclosed location appears to show a 25mm 2M-3 twin-barrelled naval anti-aircraft turret fitted to a Soviet-era MT-LB amphibious fighting vehicle to form a new hybrid weapon.
The amalgamation, which was constructed with parts manufactured as early as 1945, could be seen being transported by rail, potentially to Ukraine.

Its 25mm guns were likely procured from a naval patrol boat, an area where Russia has a rare surplus, while its tracks could date back to the 1950s.
Military experts said Russia is likely being forced to improvise from dwindling stockpiles to backfill for destroyed or lost hardware in Ukraine.
Moscow likely turned to a naval turret because its navy has been far less depleted than its battle-stricken land forces, according to Justin Crump, of Sibylline, an intelligence and geopolitical risk firm.
“I suspect it was improvised from naval turrets as they had access to them and the relevant ammunition,” he said.

None of those countries you listed in post #35 besides Russia and Ukraine are militarily engaged in this war.
And no, this is not World War 3. it’s purely a war between Russia (the invader) and Ukraine.
“When the the Ukrainians show this sort of improvisation, it is called heroic.
When the Russians do so, it is called using relics.”
Well, duh, because it’s not heroic to deplete your whole military stock trying to conquer a few scraps of land from your tiny neighbor if you are the “second most powerful nation on the planet”.
The entire I’m reading this article the theme music from the A-Team is in my head.
“I love it when a plan coves together.”
Thanks for reminding us all of the reality that Russia can’t take a single village despite months of efforts.
to which I correctly pointed out that NATO isn’t fighting here.
It is Russia who is fighting (and losing to) the Ukrainians.]
NATO hasn’t even joined the fight
NATO isn't fighting here, so your statement in #10 is false
Of course they are the underdog against Russia.
“Forty year old Soviet garbage from Albania is what we are giving Ukraine?”
Soviet garbage is what the Ukrainians know how to use, how to maintain, and what their industries can possibly resupply.
Giving them a bunch of non-standardized equipment from a dozen or more NATO countries instead can cause all sorts of other issues, so the Soviet equipment is actually preferable in most cases.
“Hey after 6 months they have almost taken bakmut”
At this rate, they’ll be in Kiev by Easter. Well, Easter 2084, but still!
Hahahaha, again with your fantasy lineup. Don’t forget those military superpowers of Montenegro, Eritrea and Abkhazia!!!
That’s poor analysis. The Russians have limited Anti-drone capailities because their army is designed for a fight in the 1980’s. Designing and buikmlding a purpose buikt Drone defense playform is a multi year effort, they need a solution now, so they are adapting mothballed systems to try to fix the lack on the fly.
Funny thing is, jacknhoo keeps posting that all those countries are involved with “WWIII”, yet he resolutely will refuse to answer whether he believes a country simply giving military aid to another country amounts to an act of war.
I wonder why he won’t answer that question???
The winners in this war are Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, and the Cheney Family Wealth Trust.
you trolls will post any BS/propaganda............

We used to call that Yankee Ingenuity.
Why don’t you just give the Russia-Devil credit for being resourceful?
What the hell is wrong with these Roooskies? And their miserable army. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.

Zelensky’s regime can deny its involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline terrorist attack all it wants—but it won’t matter.
Clearly, a very strong faction of the Deep State wants to blame UA so the West can pull out of the Ukraine disaster.
jacknhoo - thanks for that list.
If it is anywhere near accurate ... this would mean that WWIII is a real thing at this time. To imagine that Russia would not seek revenge on those who backed Ukraine is ludicrous.
The next 30 years are going to be full of retribution as soon as Ukraine is defeated. CIA and Deep State will likely see huge budget increases because of:
“mumble-mumble threat to civilization mumble-mumble human rights of queers and perverts, mumble-mumble climate stabilization initiative mumble mumble requires increased taxation of the rich mumble-mumble where is my ice cream cone mumble-mumble nice hair, lemme sniff mumble-mumble ...”
