A new Florida bill would make it illegal for dogs to stick their heads out of car windows in the Sunshine State.
State Sen. Lauren Book, a Democrat who represents parts of South Florida, introduced the animal welfare bill last week.
It would prohibit a dog owner from allowing their pet to "extend its head or any other body part outside a motor vehicle window while the person is operating the motor vehicle on a public roadway."
If the bill is passed, dogs must also be on a harness or in a pet seatbelt when traveling in a car.

What? How else are dog supposed to drive? Their legs just can’t reach the pedals and they need human help....
I always thought the real goal of the child car seat thing was to reduce the time infants are being held by their mother.
Folks have tried to tally up the difference between the number of kids dying in accidents before the seats, to that and the number of those being left inside and cooked, after the seats.
But they always come back with that there isn’t enough data before the seats to make a good comparison.
So, if there was no good data beforehand, why did they need the seats to begin with? Just another “good idea” made mandatory.

It is a distraction for other motor vehicle operators, but I don’t see dog owners caring a lick about other people. They’re similar to cigarette smokers and their respective politeness about flicking their ciggy butts everywhere.
Please dont put all dog owners in one big bag. its MOST dog owners DGAS about others. walmart, home depot, lowes, the grocery stores, have all become dog parks instead of places of business.

I don’t own a dog, I am not a dog lover, not a dogfather nor a doggrandfather nor have dog children. This bill is the dumbest thing I have seen in a while and will cause a real backlash to the dummy that proposed this.
