Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) encouraged Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to sit out the 2024 presidential battle and continue serving as governor.
Palin further voiced confidence in former President Donald Trump's odds of clinching the party nod and suggested that competitive primaries could be a net positive for the GOP.
"DeSantis doesn’t need to [run]. I envision him as our president someday, but not right now. Everybody I speak with in Florida love[s] him. And he does set the tone for, I'd say, every other governor in the nation," Palin told Newsmax. "I think he's our best governor. And he should stay governor for a bit longer."

Nope.
I have been around awhile.
Desantis stays right where he is.
The media will destroy him at this next election.
It is about getting rid of anyone who believes in the Constitution.
Mark my words, You must not divide.
I loved his time in office. Voted for him twice. But a lot of Trump supporters seem to be afraid of DeSantis, trying to destroy him.
Absolutely agree! Our Governor needs to stay here in office! We need him!
Didn’t McCain’s understudy get trounced in 2022?
History suggests that any given man is lucky to have but one decent shot at their party’s POTUS nomination.
Most people believe DeSantis currently has a decent shot at the Republican party’s POTUS nomination.
He might not get another decent shot.
“...quitter...”

Cheap shot.
+1. See my #45, similar sentiment.
Bingo! If he runs now, he incurs Trump’s wrath and it will get ugly. If he waits until 2028, he gets Trumps accolades and huge backing from millions of MAGA Trump supporters. 2028 is DeSantis’ time.

Until we ballot harvest more successfully than the Democrats, it does not matter who is our nominee.
Trump says he backs ballot harvesting now, so I hope there are real plans being made and it is not just the typical Trump lip service to an issue with no real action behind it.
I disagree. No other way to say it but I'm tired of octogenarians in politics clinging to power, be it in the White House today with Joe Biden, the U.S. Senate like Mitch McConnell among others, the Supreme Court, whatever.
These ancient geezers really should voluntarily leave office prior to being required to be wheeled out in a body bag like John McCain and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. No one is so special the country can't survive without them and we absolutely need their services at such an advanced age over younger blood.
Sarah would have a little more credibility here if she had run herself in 2012 instead of doing that tease bus tour in September 2011 that went no where.
Trump probably called her up and asked her to say that.
She’s giving him good advice. He would do well to heed it.
Palin is so yesterday. She has waaaaaay too much baggage to be telling anyone else what to do. She’s history, going down as a loser with McCain.
The female governor that has a little more giddy-up go and brains is Kristi Noem.
Did Alaska have the same law about not running for other office while filling an office like Governor? Did she make the same pledge that DeSantis made?
Not the same situation, though.
If it was stolen in 2020, what make you think they won’t steal it from whoever runs on the R side.
The ONLY reason Trump won the first time was they had deluded themselves into thinking Trump had no chance, so they did no midnight engineering.
I agree with Palin. One thing I would say is Florida has become the Anti-California. It is said as California goes, so goes the nation. I believe to get back to normalcy, both criminally, socially and economically, we need to say “As goes Florida, so goes the country.”
“The country needs the FL governor over the next two years, while we still have a Biden, setting the example and exercising the 10th amendment to keep this country from imploding.”
DeSantis will still be governor for the next 2 years even if he decides to run. He and we have nothing to lose and much to gain if DeSantis throws his hat in the ring.
