Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) encouraged Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to sit out the 2024 presidential battle and continue serving as governor.
Palin further voiced confidence in former President Donald Trump's odds of clinching the party nod and suggested that competitive primaries could be a net positive for the GOP.
"DeSantis doesn’t need to [run]. I envision him as our president someday, but not right now. Everybody I speak with in Florida love[s] him. And he does set the tone for, I'd say, every other governor in the nation," Palin told Newsmax. "I think he's our best governor. And he should stay governor for a bit longer."

DeSantis should be the “Plan B” if for any reason Trump can’t go in 2024.

The country needs the FL governor over the next two years, while we still have a Biden, setting the example and exercising the 10th amendment to keep this country from imploding.

Not only that- but instead of becoming a bitter rival with Trump- if he waits till 2028 to run, he will have Trump’s full backing no doubt- which will mean a lot to a lot of folks-

the two should be working together to lock up the next 12 years at least of being conservative presidents at the helm- lock the destructive democrats out completely- that is providing cheating doesn’t put in another wholly unqualified dem as president again
Gov. Ron DeSantis could make it all easy by endorsing Trump. Which Trump seems to expect because of the help he gave in making DeSantis Governor.
I thought DeSantis is anti-MAGA, a globalist, GOPe etc. I’m getting confused.
A lot of Trumpers seem very worried about DeSantis.
I don’t trust Governors. That‘s why I admire Palin for stepping down and Pence for not running for re-election. Most of them stay in as long as possible.
Trump on Election Day 2024 will be older (78) than Joe Biden was on Election Day 2020 (77).
I think that’s more of a “problem” than DeSantis being in his 40s.
He’ll be older than she was when she ran for vice president and infinitely more accomplished.
