A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck central Turkey early on Monday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

Watching a series of videos, live news, etc. It is incredible the number of large, multi-story apartment buildings that have collapsed—and at around 4 a.m. local time. Earlier as the government and folks started talking about a 1,000-plus and now latest I heard was 1,710 buildings collapsed, I figured they were talking about hovels and typical third world dwellings, but the pictures are showing large building after large building left as piles of rubble. I am suspecting that they might have a hundred thousand dead by the time they finish recovery.

Was that coinciding with the latest 7.5M quake? I doubt any of those remaining apartments in the neighborhood are safe.
