A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck central Turkey early on Monday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

Not important, except (sigh of relief) San Francisco / Alaska aren’t waiting in the wings, I guess.
To have a 7.8 striking a city while people are asleep is terrible.
