These videos were recorded on the evening of January 7, 2023, in Memphis, Tennessee. Video 1 is a police-issued body-worn camera near the intersection of Raines and Ross Rd. Videos 2, 3, and 4 are video footage at the second location, a residential neighborhood. Video 2 is from a pole camera and contains no audio. Videos 3 and 4 are police-issued body-worn camera videos. Strongly disagree. If it’s a major case release the videos. Lots of states release DUIs and relatively mild crimes compared to this on Youtube and they get millions of views and ruin their lives. Lots of mocking and bashing going on.
If those are allowed, then this cop criminal murder stuff should be too.
1. There was no reason to drag him out of car for traffic violation.
2. There was not reason to attempt handcuff him for traffic violation
3. He ran because he was scared shitless
4. They beat him senseless and caused probable head/brain trauma
5, They didn’t didn’t give a damn once they pulverized him
6. It took like 20 mins for any EMT to arrive
I try to support the police.
But this is simply a murder by police.
I hope those 5 cops meet people like them in prison so they can understand what they did.
And OMT …. They were in some scorpion unit that dealt in drugs and gangs.

I dunno. This was some pretty ruthless stuff even for cops. Some say Rodney King was worse, but King didn’t die.
I can’t imagine being in these guys shoes when they sat them down and told to watch what was captured on an independent or remote camera video. Holy smokes!
Watch it again and keep your eyes on the perp’s position.
He’s being hit in the arm with the baton, not the head.
The arm he’s using to prop himself up with because he’s still not cuffed and continuing to resist.
This happens more than you think, it doesn’t always make National news. Ask any old time cop. White, black, Asian, disabled et al, it doesn’t matter. The goal is to kill, not subdue.
It needs to be out. Sometimes it takes something this horrific to shake folks up. We need to change the way they are trained. The sooner the better.

Suicide by cop. Memphis government are a disgrace for bringing second degree murder charges!
How about this: innocent until proven guilty, and none of the evidence should be tried in the court of public opinion, especially if it will inflame riots.
This country has abandoned not only its laws and the spirit of the laws, but also common decency. Two wrongs still don't make a right.
That being said, because violence against a police officer derives a greater punishment from the courts, the officers should also be held to greater accountability.
In a sane world they would be taken out back to return no more.

Why didn’t they just cuff the suspect? That would be one of my first questions. Not immediately securing the suspect when it was possible, is yet another violation.

They will plea guilty on the kidnapping charge. Six months jail time out of state.
