This is the horrific moment police shoot an unarmed disabled man seven times after suspecting he had a hostage in his trailer.

Jason Harley Kloepfer, 41, from North Carolina, US, was shot in the chest and arm after Cherokee County police responded to reports of a gunfire on December 12 at around 11pm.

Cops believed Kloepfer, who identifies as disabled, was the alleged gunman and holding a hostage inside his trailer - despite being inside with his wife.

In the shocking footage, Kloepfer is seen inside the trailer opening the door to police.

Kloepfer, and his wife Alison Mahler, both raise their hands in the air to show they are unarmed....

“Kloepfer was charged with Communicating Threats and Resist, Obstruct and Delay.”

“Delay”?

They invent criminal charges that do not exist just to tack on more charges. I see it all the time in these reports.

"..What did he have in his hand when he tried to walk out of his trailer?.."

The little robot camera the cops threw in his trailer to recon.
So they knew he had it in his hand.

This looks like some Red Bull-n-coffee jacked up part time SWATter got jiggy early on the trigger and the rest followed. Bad mojo.

Far as I know Mr Koepfler is still alive. Mebbe he ends up movin into the county commissioner's house after the lawyers get thru.. d;^)

I’ve seen too many videos where cops don’t even know what your basic constitutional rights are. Something is lacking in the training. It doesn’t take much to explain what your 1-5A rights are. Many seem to think that “we got a call” is justification to tread all over them.

I have friends and family that are LEO’s, they have a tough job. That doesn’t mean I always agree with them, there’s a sense of entitlement of being ‘right’ just by being a cop.

We watch that OP Live show on Reels and there are times we just cringe watching some of the stuff the police do. I support our LEOs but there are times I wonder why they almost always shoot to kill when it is not necessary. I know they say that is their training because they don’t know if the perp could be still dangerous but...!

“Kloepfer, and his wife Alison Mahler, both raise their hands in the air to show they are unarmed.”

Police are trained that “Hands Kill”, showing them is a threat that calls for deadly force. /s

Possibly a flashlight. But things like this cause me to wonder if the police had a drink or four before this shooting incident.

Woken by a little camera robot the police placed in their camper. I guess the video from the robot camera was not convincing enough.

The robot camera the police threw into his trailer. Not a joke.

I remember a story about cops shooting a deaf man for not following verbal instructions, another when a woman called for help because her friend was having some diabetic episode and the police killed her for not following instructions.

These were several years ago, hopefully they have had better training.

That’s why using this term is wrong. Raises too many questions.

Just about got us both shot because of a taillight out.

This is one of the reasons why I make it a point to tell people they have a problem with their vehicle lights, if I get the chance.

Don't want the gendarmes to get a chance to collect 15-20K on a marginal DUI, or a chance to shoot somebody over something like you related.

It’s risky to say, but true.. A lot of cops are just itching to kill someone in the line of duty as a trophy.

Doesn’t matter what race is involved. They also love to shoot dogs if there’s no humans available that they can get rid of.

Obviously not... They continue to be too quick on the trigger. Which make me wonder if this victim’s “handicap” was hearing impairment. This would put a whole different perspective on the situation. Do they even consider this a possibility when they are giving commands?

Absolutely not, it is always shoot first and ask questions later. And if they are wrong then it was just acceptable collateral damage while doing their duties.

I do too. We should not be put in the situation where we have to fear being pulled over for a taillight. But now it can mean life or death...

yes it does. He’s either disabled or he’s not.
He can’t decide as the mood fits.

“he “identifies as disabled” ? so is he or isn’t he?”

Society has dictated that unless you are collecting disability you are not legally disabled. It is like saying that unless you have a fishing license you do not know how to fish. Even the hearing impaired can be denied disability because they are “still able to work”. Yet the hearing impairment is still a disability whether legally accepted or not.

Is it wrong for someone with bad hips to make the claim they have bad hips? A very real disability?
