At least three Virginia school districts that failed to notify students about National Merit award commendations are under investigation by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares. The number of schools that have admitted their failure to notify students of national recognition is now at 17. Governor Glen Youngkin is blaming so-called “equity” programs for the problem.
Youngkin said over the weekend the recognition “seems to have been withheld from them for the purpose of not wanting to make people feel bad who didn’t achieve it.” Indeed, the scandal broke earlier this month when parents of students at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County accused the school of not telling students they had received National Merit recognition to avoid upsetting others who had not.
As crazy and idiotic as that sounds, it was not unexpected.
Thomas Jefferson High School used to be one of the finest secondary schools in the world. But then Fairfax County Public Schools paid an “equity consultant” $455,000 to develop programs to guarantee “equal outcomes,” and the rest is entirely predictable.
School officials said they believed the delay was “a unique situation due to human error” and are investigating why notifications did not go out “in a timely manner” to those designated as commended students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Fairfax County Public Schools officials previously told ABC News that “to suggest a deliberate intent to withhold this information would be inaccurate and contrary to the values” of the school district.
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares launched a probe into the matter earlier this month to determine whether the Thomas Jefferson school administration violated students’ civil rights.

Yes, and they’ll do it again.
And I must add — ASIAN STUDENTS ARE OVER-REPRESENTED in Virginia’s best schools even though the Asian Community is a minority in the state.

If were 1 school it could have been a bureaucratic SNAFU. But not if it’s 17 schools. It had to be intentional. No way could it been accidental as the schools are now claiming.
Do bears poop in the woods? Is the Pope a communist?
Hanson’s Razor: never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
Doing your best means nothing to the Corrupt
Some have claimed stupidity is more dangerous than malice, as stupidity has much randomness which is difficult to prepare against.
All students who got National Merit semifinalist status were notified. That is how you qualify for the scholarships.
What happened was that those who were commended (close but not a semifinalist) were delayed in getting their certificates.
The validity of your statement is not limited to Virginia.

Late today, Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Michelle Reid admitted to problems with “internal practices” that have led to the withholding of National Merit awards from students and their families, as local community members raise questions about $513,500 in local contracts that have disseminated controversial ideas, which include being “purposefully unequal” and accepting “new discriminations” to rectify “past discriminations.”-PJAccording to new information obtained by the Fairfax County Times, three local agencies – Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), the Reston Community Center and Fairfax County Public Library – have paid divisive author Ibram X. Kendi a total of $58,500 for three hours and 50 minutes of talks since 2020, most of which were virtual.
In his book, “How to Be an Antiracist,” released in August 2019, Kendi states, “The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination. The only remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.”

In an April 26, 2022, meeting with a New Jersey school board, posted on YouTube. Fagbayi said, “The goal is equal outcomes. And what we need to be equitable about is the access. In a very real sense, many districts struggle with this. To have true equity, you have to be purposefully unequal when it comes to resources. I want to say that again because most districts struggle with that. To have an equity-centered organization, we have to have the courage and the willingness to be purposefully unequal when it comes to opportunities and access.”

I wonder, did they tell the black kids who received commendations? That would be even more damning.
Of course they did and if whites don’t stand up they will keep doing this kind of stuff and worse. Our children are in the crosshairs, and they care if it hurts them or not.
School administrators and teachers resent their brightest and most industrious students, which they weren't.
The teaching and admin establishment are stone Marxists, and the core of Marxism is envy.
This whole episode is powered by envy.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) is likewise a branch of international Marxism that is powered by envy.
The whole movement is extremely effective, in the same way pouring sand into the gas tank of a Ferrari is extremely effective.
It really is a sad testament to human beings that such evil resentment and jealousy is so easily aroused among so many people.
BTW Christianity or Judaism are the potent antidotes to these bad things.
The “secret Asian” are stealing all our scores! We need to give their excess scores to underpriveleged minorities of our choosing!
Headline asks a silly question, as it’s demonstrably true they did that.
