The film’s armorer will face the same charge. A cinematographer was killed when a gun Baldwin was rehearsing with went off. There was not supposed to be live ammunition on the set.

Her prints need to be on every single casing that was on that gun. However, IIRC, Baldwin picked up the casing....but I would have to go back to verify.
>>It took them a long time to decide a charge, possibly to wait for the emotions to die down so they could slap his hands and walk away.
From the version of the article on Yahoo:
The charge is a fourth-degree felony, punishable by up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine under New Mexico law. The charges also include a provision that could result in a mandatory five years in jail because the offense was committed with a gun.
18 months is hardly a “wrist slap”, even less so if they add the 5 year “evil gun” add-on (which they should)
Baldwin also pointed a real gun at someone outside the call for gun use in the film. I know better than to point a gun at anybody I am not intending to shoot whether I think it is loaded or not.
Well, some sanity returns? By definition, he is guilty of manslaughter. Plain and simple.
Well, I guess “Rust” won’t be on Netflix anytime soon...
Lock him up!
Will he be able to VOTE?
What kind of plea deal?
Experts here said he wouldn’t be charged, period.
Oops.
There is no expert more certain they’re right than an FR expert.
Did the film’s armorer pull the trigger?
Will he be able to VOTE?
I’ve heard there was live ammo mixed in with the blanks. If true, who did that? Or was that negligence, too?
This case reminds me of the case where the female cop thought she was reaching for her Tazer but instead drew her firearm and ended up killing the guy she/they were trying to arrest. They’re similar in the sense that I don’t think anyone thinks either was an intentional killing.
However, that cop is in prison for ??? - I don’t remember. I doubt that Baldwin will serve an hour.
Rocket Man would love to give him asylum.
We have to remember that back when this happened we had prominent actors to a man saying a) When you are handed a gun YOU c heck it YOURSELF And b) When you are firing the gun in scene you NEVER actually aim at a person. Baldwin tossed out and violated every industry safety rule .
America doesn’t need gun control... It needs crazy actor’s carrying guns control...
Bet he pulls a Polanski and gets out of the country.
I hope the DA pushes for the 5 year jail provision.
Baldwin is getting away with negligent homicide.
He pulled the trigger and he is responsible for what happened.
Maybe he can take his brother Billy with him. Stephen and Daniel can stay.
