The Washington Post also reported vice presidents have the authority to declassify anything they classified. The New York Times similarly reported that the vice president has the power to declassify, while noting the scope of that authority "has never been definitively tested."
Materials that could be classified include military plans, foreign government information or scientific, technological or economic matters relating to national security, according to the order.
"It is longstanding practice in the executive branch to treat the vice president as having the same amount of authority in that respect as the president unless the president explicitly says otherwise," McClanahan said.
If true, it raises the question if the documents in question were classified by Biden or someone else.
Each Executive Order has a number for reference. No such number is given as proof of this claim of legality. This group of lawyers thinks we should believe them because they say so? Horse puckey. Prove your assertions.
Anyone who has the power to classify, has the power to declassify. It is very specific people.
But the President can declassify anything.
Wait until they tell us it’s O.K. for Biden to bring home documents so Hunter can sell top secrets to the Chinese.
Apparently GW Bush issued an EO authorizing Cheney to classify/declassify, and Obama retained it for Biden. It’s not in the Constitution of course, it’s what they call delegation of power.
There's nothing amazing about it. The brazen lawlessness that Democrats operate under and their sheer hypocrisy on everything should no longer be a surprise.

Its ironic how everyone is now in the weeds of “declassification authority,” Did Biden have it, was there an executive order from Obama allowing it? What is its scope? etc etc.
And yet the the DOJ/FBI ignored any such debate and went full steam ahead to charge Trump with something/anything, to remove him from 2024 consideration.

VP Biden made no claim that he declassified anything, that I am aware of. Bot only that, he would have been only qualified to declassify his own classified documents, as I understand it.

No worries. Some stooge will come forward and say, “Yes. I saw Mr. Biden classify those papers. Every one of ‘em.” No one in the media will question that.
Side note #1: I thought this would be the scandal that would finally sink Biden. But now it looks like the old fool will dodge yet another bullet.
Side note #2: VP Harris must be rather sad today.
They must have done some exhaustive research to come up that. Wonder where their exhaustive research is regarding the Hunter laptop, Penn Center, Biden family wealth creation or corruption at the DOJ/FBI?
The very fact that the MSM is going to this length to find a way to justify his possession of classified documents is very telling. With this, they are basically admitting that Biden people stole and held on to classified documents.
I wonder if they’ll do exhaustive research into finding out what is in the classified documents an$ who had access to them - along with all the other questions . . .
