Former President Trump blamed the “abortion issue” for Republicans underperforming expectations in the 2022 midterm elections.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Sunday that many in the GOP handled the issue poorly, especially those who “firmly” insisted on no exceptions to bans on the procedure, including in instances of rape and incest.
He also said he is not to blame for the party’s performance, responding to many in the GOP who have pointed to him as a reason for its losses.

The court would have been overtly meddling in elections
If who would’ve waited? The USSC? That wasn’t an option.
GOP candidates in Minnesota were pummeled with an unrelenting series of slick ads highlighting their strict anti abortion positions and painting them as too extreme. The feckless state GOP leadership had no answer or position on the issue and the Democrats swept the state. Trump was right.
Trump is right. Going against what young women want is GOP suicide. No fetus has survived outside of womb during 1st 12 weeks. It is therefore her body and her choice in situations of forced pregnancy.
Trump’s right.
Tudor Dixon, running for Michigan Governor, an unknown horror movie actress and trust fund baby who’s name is associated with a wealthy home style emphatically stated no exceptions for rape and incest sending her campaign straight to the bottom of Lake Superior.
Abortion didn’t hurt Brian Kemp
forced pregnancy?? what the hell dude. You are a delusional leftist for not KNOWING that women equally partake in the decision to have sex and therefore the ‘risk’ of getting pregnant with ANOTHER life. Glad to hear you’re so close to the devil here.
It didn’t help, but there were other issues as well. Some being things no Republican state legislature is willing to do anything about.
Who picked and supported those candidates? Stop blaming and put forth a clear detailed agenda for the future.
He’s right.
“On abortion, the scenario was flipped with Democrats ranking it as their leading concern by a three-to-one margin compared to Republicans.”

Abortion didn’t drive more R’s to vote. But it sure drove plenty of D’s to vote. That’s a fact.
And Linda Graham poured gas on that flame right before the election.
On. Purpose.
Mitch and Linda did not want to win the majority.
Abortion is the reason I started looking into Conservatism when I was in my twenties. If one innocent life was saved because of the Dobbs decision, than it was worth it. Some things transcend politics.
Trump is right, but it was the TIMING of the leak.
The bill can spend an entire column and never once print a quote
Just please.
Some of it was. Probably hurt Doug Mastriano.
The problem is that Republicans allow the rats to define their position on abortion as extremist. Very few Republicans ever push back by delineating the truly extreme position of the Demagogues on abortion. Up till the 9th month, seconds before the birth(I’m sure many after birth as well). The extreme torture and pain that unborn babies are subjected to when they suffer their horrible deaths. It’s unconscionable, and it really makes me sad that so many seem to not care.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the GOP underperformed.
Useless party.
It was the fraud.
It wasnt the SCOTUS ruling correctly on this issue that did the damage..it was that yapping little SOB Graham starting with the “We should made it illegal nationally.”
AND..right after the SCOTUS reaffirmed the states rights on the issue.
It is never in the interest of a civil society to shed innocent blood. Never.
