Dirty dishes should not take days.

And the laundry baskets are there for a purpose. It’s no more difficult to hit one of them than drop the dirty laundry on the floor.

Easy solution.

He can do his own cooking and laundry.

On his own schedule.

My wife fills the dishwasher with her stuff, I fill with my own, and I empty the washer in the morning. I do my own laundry simply to take the load off her. Works great! She’s not as nimble as she used to be. So I also do the cat boxes daily. Of course, I do all the electrical and mechanical fixing, perhaps not always as promptly as she wants, but it gets done. Her big projects are in the spring when she turns the yard in Eden, as well as the back deck. I have strongly encouraged the use of “please” and “thank you” which has taken hold over the past 8 months or so. Makes our interactions far more pleasant. ;-)

We split chores too.

I pull the trash together but mr. mm seems to really enjoy the dump run.

We share the dishes but I do virtually all the shopping and cooking. He doesn’t mind washing them, which I have always hated.

All the laundry is mine as well. I love to hang it out in the nice weather.

I grow all the food, but heavy yard work, he chips in if I need him too.p, although I don’t have a problem getting the little electric chainsaw out and trimming trees if they need it. Also running the log splitter and helping stack the wood is good exercise.

I do mostly the domestic stuff, and he takes care of the maintenance, which he was born with a gift for.

Yes, courtesy and gratitude go a LONG way to changing the atmosphere in the house.

Well, in your example did the truckers make frequent raids on the pool of data entry workers to do the grunt work outside while requiring that the data entry people simultaneously to keep up with their own workload indoors (since that workload theoretically doesn’t exist)? When data entry workers called out or fled to other employers and there were only finite man hours available for the work at hand, was the data entry work suspended in favor of keeping the truckers trucking, or did the truckers have to suspend their own work to cover the data entry shifts because without the pink collar workers no money comes in, no customers are waited on, and the place would quickly stop meeting its payroll?

No.

Once while recovering from an injury, I was put on data entry. I learned it in 15 minutes and I played it well.

Full disclosure:

After an hour of data entry I was pulling my hair out with boredom, and pleaded with management until they changed my temporary duties to forklift operator.

They need to communicate which types of chores need to be done, who is responsible for them on what basis, and the general agreed-upon standard of care.

That's what we do, and although I prefer to stick to my agree-upon duties, I can be bribed to do hers, given the right currency.

When my sock supply wears out, I make a point of buying 9 pair of identical socks, so that matching socks after washing becomes easy.

It works the same for yard chores. I would mow the lawn as much as twice a week and my wife would always tell me that it "looks fine" the way it is.

But I always liked a "golf course" look to my yard, so I was out there constantly.

Same with firewood. If my supply of firewood gets less than about 2 1/2 cords, I start getting nervous. I'll be out there chopping wood to get to my comfort level of 4-5 cords neatly stacked, covered with tarp, and ready to burn in case we get the "mother of all blizzards" that leaves us snowbound and without power for a couple of weeks.

But with regard to dishes or laundry piling up, I see no need to tackle that unless I have zero clean plates to use or no clean clothes to wear. Therefore my wife is constantly working on those chores.

Marriages should be based on a 10-year renewable contract! The possibility of being “renewed” every 10 years. No siggy? Hit the road!

No need. Just make the divorce court system less lopsidedly in favor of women. If divorce meant the wife didn’t clean out the husband, wires would be more likely to make an effort to keep him happy.

Sixty years ago, before databases, an abused husband could more easily walk away and be hard to find.

LOL put on my hiking boots.

Southern roaches make up in numbers what they lack in sheer size.

Walk into kitchen at night in our old fleabag apartment, turn on light . . . "Hey, honey, I didn't know we had brown linoleum . . ." YEccccch!

I solved all of that corporate crap by switching to 1099 work for clients. I do electronic design and embedded software. Now I'm retired but still have three busy clients.

Everywhere I have worked, the women fit in as well as the men. I don't know if they paid the same; but, their work was always up to par. I used to be a male chauvinist in the work place until I worked under a lady who was one of Admiral Grace Hopper's girls. She tied a knot in my ass and send me down the straight and narrow.

Years ago I was working in Philly when my fathers company was renovating Wanamaker's Department store myself and another guy were clearing debris when we heard a scratching noise in the old plaster ceiling above our heads. Low and behold a rat fell through the old plaster and hit the floor running. I thought it was a cat at first until I realized what I was looking at. God that thing was huge!

The philosophers believe these deep-seated gender divides in domestic perception can be altered>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

BUahahahahahahahahahahaha! First these philosophers need to learn to write properly.

“Idiots” is an understatement. You are too kind.

Allow me to add: “Ignorant Idiots”

This is systemic misogyny. But what do you expect. Germaine Greer has died on the alter of transgender body politic. So now we have boys in girls washrooms at school and pseudo scientists spouting drivel about intersexual domestic tasking .’t make this stuff up.

SO I will cling bitterly to my bible, guns and the good women I know. LOL.

You can
