Now you have a shot at that angel food cake :-)

I don't kill stink bugs because they release their nasty smell when you squash them.

I pick them up in a piece of tissue and escort them outside (where at the present time they will freeze to death).

But I'll stomp a roach with my bare foot if I have to. Hate those nasty things.

Demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt that Lewis’ relationship with Paddy Moore’s mother was non-sexual.

My wife drove her car for a week with a fallen branch snagged on the undercarriage. I got in and moved it about ten feet before I checked out the scraping noise and pulled the branch free. I asked her if she hadn’t heard the awful noise. She said she did but thought it was “just something cars did”

We’re different like that.

I get that, but at my job, the managers are almost all male, and the consensus seems to be that the people doing traditionally pink collar work don’t do ANY work, even though heaven forbid that one of them should call out, leaving management to cover the shift. (They then complain how tired they are, how they have to abandon their own jobs, etc etc, oh the humanity! but after it’s over with, they will go back to saying that pink collar work isn’t work). One way I have found that you can be treated like a human being is if you are seen lifting heavy objects and fixing things. It works, so I do it rather than enduring the complete lack of respect of being treated like a freeloader when I am nothing of the sort!

I remember the Tim Allen routine about his wife driving with the oil light was on:

Tim: “Was the oil light on?”
Wife: “Yeah it was on.”
Tim: “Well how did you feel about that?”

Dang! I have an 18" and that's big enough for me!

My predecessor, who sold me this farm, was 84 years old and maybe 120 pounds wringing wet. He had a 20" Stihl Farm Boss that he handled like a toothpick.

I could use it, but always felt like it was on the edge of getting away from me. So I sold it to my tree guy and bought the 18". Anything too big for that to cut is being lateraled to my tree guy anyway.

Query: what is your cleaning routine for your chainsaw? I take off the sprocket cover, brush everything down, make sure the lube is full. Something else I should be doing? Thanks!

If you were living in NYC( Heaven forbid) you’d need a .38 to kill a roach. The things are as big as mice. I’m not kidding.

Interesting.
I guess that according to this premise, I’m a woman. My housekeeping habits, cleanliness and attention to detail is far greater than the current or any former wife or girlfriend.

Exactly. I can be convinced to straighten out the sheets and blankets so it looks tidy, but I draw the line at tucking them under the mattress. She likes everything tucked in, complete with the military fold at the corners.

I think a lot of it is “keeping up with the Joneses” - like fashion. Most men wear the same Levi’s and flannel shirts all their lives, while women tend to keep up with whatever is “in style”.

I couldn’t care less what some (homosexual) European designer decides is hip.

I’m not suggesting women are incapable of thinking for themselves - that’s not it at all - it’s just that they seem to care more than men what other people think.

Okay, like about half the posts on this thread, mine was very tongue-in-cheek and said jokingly.

Like almost everything in life, there are exceptions.

I appreciate women! Grew up in an all-female household (divorced mom, 4 sisters).

Still, there’s enough truth in what I said.

Lastly, the article only talk about how many need to think like women and why, in an article about how different the sexes are. I’m just going the opposite tack—women can think like men, but it isn’t even mentioned.

It’s been my experience that men deem “woman’s work” as being beneath them.

Your perception is either off base or limited to your particular social group.

My own observation is that up to and including the WWII generation, family labor was shared but divided by sex roles. Husbands did indeed perform the strenuous tasks, leaving the domestic chores to their wives. That arrangement has greatly diminished, beginning with the Boomers, and among those couples who are better off financially, pretty much all domestic labor has been outsourced.
