Trump addresses Log Cabin Republicans at Mar-a-Lago gala
The Los Angeles Blade ^ | December 16, 2022 | Christopher Kane

Former President Donald Trump addressed an audience gathered at his Mar-a-Lago club and estate in Palm Beach, Fla., Thursday night for the Log Cabin Republicans’ Spirit of Lincoln gala, the conservative LGBTQ group’s flagship event.

“We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Trump said.

“Last night, we had over 450 LGBT conservatives and our straight allies join us for another amazing Spirit of Lincoln gala,” Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran told the Washington Blade.

“While the speakers and award honorees spanned the conservative spectrum, all of them, including President Trump, articulated a deep appreciation for our community and committed to our broader inclusion and support for gay rights,” Moran said, adding, “This is the bar we’ll be holding all GOP candidates to in 2023 and 2024.”

Last year, the Log Cabin Republicans honored Melania Trump with its Spirit of Lincoln award, citing her work combatting bullying in her role as first lady.

However, the group’s support of the former president, his family and his administration has not come without controversy — even among members of its own leadership, prompting Jerri Ann Henry to resign from her position as executive director in 2019.

Its not my interpretation. “allows for” is Trump’s own words.

But yes, you might have a point. Trump might have been trying to make a more subtle argument, but simply chose the wrong way to say it.

And that’s what so frustrating about this whole parade of Trump errors. It’s not a level playing field. Biden can say any crazy thing. But Trump needs to be more careful. He needs a good adviser. Evidently there isn’t one now.

Thank you.

Yes, surprising how some appear to believe the twists of liar media.

Of course, there are the usual DrewDoo98 types shilling for any lie or negative about Trump while cheerleading DeSantis as a wedge to divide the MAGA Movement.

From December 16, 2022:
“The Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll released Friday found that 48% of GOP voters said they would support Trump if the primary were held today, while 25% said they would vote for DeSantis.”
https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/polling/trump-leads-gop-primary-desantis-runner-poll

DeSantis could put all his divisiveness to rest in 5 minutes by coming out and claiming his complete support for Donald Trump, but he hasn’t and he won’t, which is all we need to know about him.

To understand why DeSantis refuses to support the leader of the GOP, Donald Trump, one needs to read the backgrounds of criminally-minded Never-Trumper billionaires Paul Singer and Ken Griffin. These two are in same league of the Wall Street Rigged Casino as Sam Bankman-Fried. They are the ones promoting DeSantis’s 2024 ploy and it’s not because they love MAGA.

It appears that the hype and promotions surrounding DeSantis have gone to his head. Not only will he not be President, he won’t even be Vice-President.

As I have noted elsewhere, I am moving on past Trump. But your list in post #45 is very telling, and should not be forgotten.

My hope is that a new MAGA candidate appears for 2024, someone who can carry on Trump’s work. I have no idea at this point who that might be.

True. It’s politics. Nobody will speak up against them.

President Trump (and Melania) have welcomed the Log Cabin group before - I think Melania even received an award from them.

I don’t know why they need to be Log Cabin Republicans. Can’t they just be Republicans, like everyone else. Why do we have to know where they put their body parts? I guess it’s the narcissist in them.

I completely agree.

Trump’s comments don’t bother me because I get what he’s driving at. And I also get a chuckle out of his obnoxiousness — I find it politically refreshing. But of course that’s not for everyone, and it would be wise for Trump to factor that in.

I guess DeSantis is my new hope.

In the spirit of the Christmas season, we should never place our hope in man. We will always be let down, disappointed and disheartened.

Our hope should be in the one who came to be born, live among us, teach us, be the example of how we are to live, to love our neighbor as ourselves, then died for our sins: JESUS CHRIST.

He and He alone, the Son of God, our Redeemer, our Messiah, the Prince of Peace, the Bread of Life, the King of Kings, Immanuel, Lamb of God, Light of the World, Lord of All, our Hope, our Rock, our Savior, the Way, the Truth and the Life, our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, our Risen Lord and other names He is known by, is our Hope.

We should never lose sight of that.

It’s idiots like you that will lose the country, then disappear in shame.

But fortunately, Americans are much smarter than you and will not allow the country to be lost.

When Trump alluded to changes in the Constitution, he was speaking for all of MAGA that know he won by a landslide in November 2020, but was overthrown in a Coup d’Etat, the biggest crime in American history.

Trump did not specify which changes or measures to counter the Constitution with, but his prior statements made days before spoke of his reinstatement. However, a reinstatement doesn’t address the two years stolen from the presidency by the Biden Crime Syndicate.

So it follows, a reinstatement would need an accommodating adjustment via Article V to the 22nd Amendment after decertifying Biden.

Back to the likes you, the example of the pretty teenage girl who was was raped multiple times by a gang of low-life scum. The likes of you would blame the girl for wearing a short skirt.

Substitute Trump for the girl, and you and your kind for the low-lifes.

Let’s blame Trump, shall we? Let’s forget November 2020, shall we? Let’s forget all the sham prisecutiobs against Trump, shall we?

And of course, let’s believe what we read on the internet when it impugns Trump and MAGA.

No, not fixed, more like fuxed. You know you’re full of yourself.

Trump leads DeSantis by 2 to 1 as of last Friday. And it will get worse for your DeSantis doll when we drag out the skeletons in his attic.

So MAGA will attack DeSantis. Got it, just like the left. What will you do if he has no major skeletons? Was he best buds with Epstien, payed off hookers and beauty pageant ladies, spend Christmas Eve with Soros, support the WeF et al. Trump isn’t my issue, as he has been consistently Trump, but the absolute hypocrisy surrounding him. The faithful have done more damage to Trump than the left. Go ahead, attack all other candidates, do the lefts job. It will likely help.

I will look past your unnecessary personal insults, and instead say this.

You know what Trump is all about, and so do I. His list of accomplishments is simply amazing (see post #45). I supported him in 2016 and 2020, I’m sure you did, too.

We both also know how bad the steal was in 2020.

Now here’s the thing. Trump’s choice of words will not shake my belief in MAGA principles. But they most certainly will drive away those squishy voters in the middle. I’m seeing that with moderate friends of mine.

Trump is inadvertently driving away folks whose votes he needs. Add that to the fraud, and he’s making himself unelectable. If I’m wrong about that, please make a good counter-argument. I might learn something.

But if you’d rather just say more insulting things, I’d prefer you not reply.

100% not on board with Trump in 2024. I was. Not after this foolishness.

I'll vote for him in the general if he's the nominee. But he's not my guy in the primary.

Yours is a very common opinion. It’s not conservatism so much as libertarian. It’s, “I don’t care what other people do so long as they leave the children alone.” With all respect, it’s extremely naive. Do you think the world around you can descend into moral depravity without it inevitably seeping down to the children?

Consider divorce. Trump is divorced several times. Many of my friends are divorced. It happens, but it is not a good thing. It is one thing to regretfully support the right of couples to divorce. It is something entirely different—not good or wise—to speak of divorce like it’s a good thing.

So you may not have a problem with divorce. You may even be a faithful, long married spouse, but rampant divorce affects the civil society. Children that are the product of divorces, raised by single moms for example, have worse outcomes by nearly every measure. Unmarried (divorced) women line up in droves to vote for Democrats, making Uncle Sam their husband.

So yes, leaders shouldn’t be neutral on such moral issues.

“It now appears that Trump has no real strategy to get elected and that he’s just campaigning for the fun of it.“

You may be half right but if you think what he has to go through fun think again.
