Five cars rented by President Joe Biden’s Secret Service detail for his Thanksgiving weekend trip to Nantucket mysteriously burst into flames a day after he left, according to reports.
Footage of the burned out rental vehicles in a car park at Nantucket Memorial Airport was obtained by the Nantucket Current.
The local news site reported that the cause of the fire was under investigation. No one was injured in the blaze.
Footage showed firefighters dampening down the smouldering remains of several vehicles including a Chevy Suburban, a Ford Explorer, an Infiniti QX80, a Ford Expedition, and a Jeep Gladiator.
In a statement, the airport said an active fire was spotted on its CCTV system at 5.22am on Tuesday.
“Staff activated the Alert system and responded to the fire in Airport-3, where they were met by responding units from Nantucket Fire Department and Nantucket Police Department.”
The blaze spread to just 40 feet (12m) from the airport’s fuel tanks, the Current reported said.
“Combined fire resources responded and contained the fire,” the airport said.

I saw the video. It looked more like one vehicle burst into flames and the fire then spread to those near it. The report I heard said that one of the vehicles was on a list of cars for a recall. One of the issues was that a possible fire could result from a malfunction of item that prompted the recall.

A neighbor had a brand-new ford, pulled into the garage, was out mowing his lawn and noticed smoke from his garage.
The garage and house; are gone.
Not an electric car.
It is weird. But given our Leftist media, we will never know the answer unless it is conservatives.
My in-laws actually watch The View and Reid Out. You can imagine what our Thanksgiving Day dinner discussion was like. I started with “No political discussions, please.” They all agreed. Then my sister-in-law said “Did you hear what Joy Reid said ...?” After 30 minutes, my wife and I left the table and went to a motel.
I didn't see evidence of 5 cars bursting into flames. But those were just pics, not onsite looking at the cars.
Let’s hope the Secret Service looks into this... it’s a little weird to have all five cars damaged this way. If the FBI wasn’t so corrupt and busy kissing white liberal ‘elite’ butt they could assist too.

Politics were briefly discussed at the Thanksgiving dinner I attended, but we’re all conservatives so it wasn’t bad. And it was just a couple of comments here and there, not that anger-tinged obsessive-speak like the liberals tend towards.
