1. Bills named “X” usually have the opposite effect of “X” on what their name implies, either by accident or design (by design especially when Democrats introduce them). This applies to most bills in state and federal legislatures.
2. Bills containing the words or described as “common sense” never contain any.

If sales are totally suspended, what will be the state’s motivation to implement a process? It could drag on forever.

I’m thankful that I don’t as well, despite having been born there and living there for the first 30 years of my life. That Oregon is gone.

It was a couple of preachers, collars on backwards, and all, who wrote this 114 thing. They were hiding behind their pulpit and may have some personal problems because of that. Tax exemption and all? This didn’t come from gov’t directly but was an initiative. I expect these preachers will have some new life experiences since part of their bill had already been killed by the Supremes. But in the mean time it’s going to hurt some folks.

Why not ban the consistent gun violence in movies, on TV and in video games? This violence dominates and must impact those watching it.
To: Twotone
Gun sales are going up soon in nearby states.

"But the promoters of the initiative didn’t mention that. The measure was sold as a “common sense” safety law. It requires a police permit before you can buy a firearm, and to get a permit you have to prove you know how to use a gun. What’s wrong with that? Well, the law also says that to get a permit to buy a gun, you have to prove completion of a firearms training course that is “offered by law enforcement, a community college, or a private or public institution or organization or firearms training school utilizing instructors certified by a law enforcement agency…”Local police and sheriffs do not “certify” instructors for the general public. Nor do they offer public firearms training. Linn-Benton Community College doesn’t offer such training either.
The 2nd amendment provides law abiding citizens a right not a privilege. The USSC should strike down any law that attempts to take away that right. Hopefully, Oregon's restrictive law will be struck down by the USSC.

It wasn’t always like this. We were Californicated.
I’ve been fighting it for 74 years. It’s heartbreaking. I was raised in Oregon. My kids, grandkids, great grandkids all here and I will die here. Sooner than I would like, probably.
Is that what you are going to do when the entire country becomes OREGON? Run away?

Gun sales are going up soon in nearby states. If the Oregon law is allowed to stand, Oregonians will still need to register their guns bought out of state and be certified to use them.
The new law and others like it across the nation need to be struck down by the USSC. These laws are in strict violation of the 2A.
To: gundog
They sure don’t seem to vote that way. Any polling data that anyone knows of that shows an increase or decrease of registered Dems changing sides based on 2nd amendment rights? I’m sure one side, if not both, hired some polling outfit to explore this demographic. Believe I’ll start looking that up as well.
