WASHINGTON (AP) — The last conversation Sandra Torres had with her 10-year-old daughter was about her nervous excitement over whether she’d make the all-star softball team. Hours later, Eliahna Torres was one of 19 children and two teachers massacred at their elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
With little closure and few answers about law enforcement’s 77-minute wait on May 24 in the school hallway rather than confronting the gunman, Sandra Torres filed a federal lawsuit on Monday against police, the school district and the maker of the gun the shooter used.
“My baby never made it out of the school,” she said. “There’s no accountability or transparency. There’s nothing being done.”

“I don’t see what suing the gunmaker accomplishes”
From the article:
“Torres is being helped by the legal arm of the group Everytown for Gun Safety.”
I suspect she is being used as a pawn by this “organization” to attack the gun mfg. and she’s hurting so bad from her loss she doesn’t even realize it.
Truly despicable.
Yes, too bad they weren’t having Drag Queen Story Hour in that Uvalde classroom that day. That sicko child murderer might have got stomped but good.
Her lawyer went for it, and all the commie trash who habitually blame any gun death on the gun will cheer it on. Will not fly as soon as it gets into court, tho. They are immune to such trash lawsuits because of a special law passed ages ago to cut down on such trivial suits.
AS to the Uvalde coppers and the city that left them in authority — sue them into total destruction. Not just the dept, the individual coppers, too. Destroy them. Every copper dept who had a copper there on site and stood by, sue them into destruction. Make this an example of what happens when you sit around when you darned well ought to know better.
My question is when do families of People killed by drunk drivers start sueing the auto manufacturers and the liquor distillers?
A lawyer getting paid.

Nothing, it will be thrown out cue to the federal law that protects gun makers from unlawful use of their products.
“I’m all for this poor woman getting some money any way she can.”
I’m all for this woman getting money from anyone who thinks like this. That means if she wants to raid your bank account.....
The claim is part of a new and expanding legal front in the nationwide court battle over firearms. While gunmakers are typically immune under federal law from lawsuits over crimes committed with their products, families of victims of the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, secured a $73 million settlement with Remington, the maker of the weapon used in that shooting a decade ago.
The goal is to bankrupt manufactuers and sellers of firearms to accomplish what the gun-grabber's can't gain legislatively or through the courts. They've also sued the gun store that sold the guy the guns, which might be even worse. Small retailers won't be able to afford the legal costs to defend, even if they ultimately prevail.
But, not surprisingly, the information about the Sandy Hook Remington settlment is not fully correct. At the time, Remington Outdoor had filed a chapter 11 BK action, and it's insurance companies are the entities that settled with the plaintiff in the Sany Hook case. Daniel Defense may prove a tougher foe for the evil gun grabbers at Everytown. Let us hope so.
The anti-gun leftists fund the lawyers because no lawyer will take up a case that the judge will throw out.
> Nothing, it will be thrown out cue to the federal law that protects gun makers from unlawful use of their products.
And she will be on the hook for their legal bills.
Makes as much sense for suing the gasoline refineries for a death caused by drunk drivers.
Nope. The leftists anti-gun groups are funding the lawyers.
Suing the gun maker? What did they have to do except have DEEP pockets? .
AMEN!
IIRC, the Uvalde police interfered with other PDs, is that the case?
And, if so, might that qualify as a crime, much less grounds for a civil suit?
Don't know, just askin'.
Who left the locked door open?
She should sue the attorney for malpractice.
I don’t see what suing the gunmaker accomplishes
You got that right. That was a cluster......some had a straight shot when the shooter got out of his truck and walked across the school yard and got in the school were seen running away.....those that had a clear shot of the shooter in the school because he wasn’t given permission and didn’t shoot him. What happened to the “I don’t give a damn” of who’s in charge I’m going to put a stop to this. We ALL need answers.....total failure from top to bottom and heads need to roll but suing the gun maker isn’t the way to go.
