US sending Ukraine $400M in weapons, ammunition, generators

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. is sending another $400 million in weapons, ammunition and generators to Ukraine, the White House announced Wednesday, and is pulling the gear from its own stockpiles to get the support to Kyiv as fast as possible as Russia continues to target Ukraine’s energy sources and winter sets in.

Including the latest aid, the U.S. has committed more than $19 billion in weapons and other equipment to Ukraine since Russia attacked on Feb. 24. The new package of aid will be provided through presidential drawdown authority, which allows the Pentagon to take weapons from its own stock and quickly ship them to Ukraine.

The flow of weapons comes as the Biden administrations seeks to pass an additional $37 billion in military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine during the post-election session of Congress, before Republicans take over control of the House in January. Some Republican members including potential speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., have questioned the amount of money being spent on Ukraine.

Generators! Meanwhile, in the U.S., some states are outlawing generators.

... This seems like a smart and inexpensive way to hurt a malignant geopolitical rival, but what do I know.

It sounds to me like you know what's important.

$100 billion wasted on a war that has absolutely nothing to do with our national security.

Only a fool could think a war of Russian aggression in Europe has nothing to do with our interests.

Spending a small fraction of our defense budget, and degrading Russia’s military by 80% in the process, without firing a shot or putting US troops at risk.

We do not have money. We borrow it. We put it on the backs of our children and grandchildren to repay and face a diminished life to support a war that is none of our concern. We do have people on the ground - as has been widely reported.

This seems like a smart and inexpensive way to hurt a malignant geopolitical rival, but what do I know.

It is foolish. It is supporting the globohomos that control Ukraine, it is provoking a nuclear enemy. Europe can and should handle this in their back yard - financing, people, etc. It is none of our concern.

“The US...is pulling the gear from its own stockpiles...”

And drawing down the SPR, and hiring trannies to run the military, and...and...losing the entire continent of South America to marxists...and...

On purpose.

Half our leaders are compromised and infiltrated by China and other marxists.

Where are the anti-war marches??? Oh yeah, previously they were paid for and staged by America’s enemies. Now, nothing.

Why?

“”Where are the anti-war marches??? “””

I think those are for when we are in a war.

No, only a fool would claim this war is due to Russian aggression rather than our meddling in Ukraine.

Russia has FAR better reason to be in Ukraine than we did in either Iraq war.

We stuck our noses in Ukraine, fomented a revolution and trained and enabled neo-Nazis to persecute and commit genocide against the ethnic Russian population.

We armed Ukraine, we trained troops there and were running biolabs with deadly pathogens in them. We turned Ukraine into a threat to Russia. There is no chance we'd tolerate Russia or China doing that in Mexico. We'd invade.
