Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.), chair of Senate Democrats’ campaign arm, credited former President Trump for Democratic turnout in the midterms and said Trump could continue to be a problem for Republicans.
“There’s no question that Donald Trump is a motivating factor for turnout when it comes to Democratic voters,” Peters said in an interview with NBC’s Sahil Kapur.
Democrats secured a razor-thin majority in the Senate in the midterm elections by flipping Pennsylvania’s seat and defending vulnerable incumbents in Nevada and Arizona.
In Georgia, Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) will face Republican Herschel Walker again in a Dec. 6 runoff that could either expand Democrats’ majority.
“This is historic,” Peters told NBC. “For the party in power in the White House, and given where we are with inflation and other factors, to not lose a seat right now — I believe we will gain a seat — is truly historic

Does one really need to “turn out” when one has their ballot filled out and collected for them? Asking for a friend.
I agree. Trump wasn’t on the ballot. Why would they turn out for someone who is not even on the ballot. The vast majority of voters didn’t know who Trump endorsed or didn’t endorse. More posturing so Trump doesn’t run or isn’t elected in the primaries.

No doubt Biden’s Satanic demonization of MAGA had some effect. on turn out. Casting Democrats as defenders of democracy is a bad joke though. It appears that Gen Z turned out in large numbers for the student loan debt freebie and single white college educated women turned out for abortion. I suppose Trump could be blamed for the abortion vote, but I don’t begrudge him for that.
