Election results reversed in major Georgia county after memory card found with uncounted votes

The results of a local election in a major Georgia county have been reversed after officials discovered a memory card with hundreds of uncounted votes on it.

Madelyn Orochena was originally declared the victor of a race for a seat on the Kennesaw City Council in Cobb County,

"Looking forward to me being sworn in on Monday," she said at the time, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

Yet 24 hours later, Orochena got a call from the county's Board of Elections about a memory card from one of the precincts had not been uploaded, the network reported.

The results were reportedly re-certified on Friday.

County Elections Director Janine Eveler said the uncounted votes on the memory card "changed the outcome" of the race, with Orochena's competitor, Lynnette Burnette, coming in first by 31 votes.

Fox News reported that Orochena called the incident "shameful" and claimed that "our faith in our governing bodies continues to fail."

Any bets?

Three choices -
1. 99% democrat?
2. 98% democrat?
3. 97% democrat?

Anything close to this, and if we do not revolt and make it hard, why the hell do we even care to vote?

Not kidding.

It would be nice if that was revealed in either the long excerpt or by the thread poster.

Cobb county was a longtime Republican stronghold, but flipped Democrat in the 2020 election cycle.

Odds this was Democrats trying to hold onto their power?

..... Unless they can prove the Chain of Command was Absolutely NOT Compromised ..... This should not be allowed ..... Otherwise magical Memory Cards will start popping up everywhere that more votes are needed for a certain candidate to win ....

Agreed.
Lauren Bobert could lose her seat from crap like this.
Colorado’s SOS is a Soros commie, after all.
I’m wondering if she reads this article and says, “HMMMM.”

From another article… it sounds like the winner utilized a Dem campaign plan:

Burnette appears to have stayed off the mainstream radar for the duration of the campaign, which has many locals asking who she is and how she won. “Who is Lynette Burnette?” one Reddit user posted, echoing similar queries on social media.

On her campaign Facebook page, Orochena wrote, “As for Ms. Burnette, I, nor any of the other candidates whom I’ve spoken to, know anything about her. She didn’t attend city council meetings. She listed no contact information in her qualifying papers. To my knowledge she did not respond to any local media and candidate questionnaires. She did not participate in the Q&A or the local meet and greet with the rest of the candidates. I am unaware of any campaign website or platform.”

The Courier has not been successful reaching out to Burnette, but the Marietta Daily Journal spoke to her after the election. Burnette said she was not available for an interview about her platform or the issues.

Chain of Command

Chain of custody, perhaps?

In any case, it seems more than a little bogus.

Magical Memory Cards is a DBA of Acme Enterprises, which used to specialize in products made exclusively for Wile Coyote.

The other profitable DBA is Magical Evil Guns, which have the ability to transport themselves across state lines and then pull their own triggers.

“The council appears to be non partisan.”

There is no such thing as a non-partisan political office.

Their party affiliations are not on the ballot.

Here is something, not much but something.

“Orochena grew up in Kennesaw. She graduated from Kennesaw Mountain High School and has a dance degree from Kennesaw State University. She also served on the Kennesaw Arts & Culture Commission for three years, two of those as the chairperson.

Her platform emphasized supporting the arts, improving walkability, pedestrian safety, and affordability. She also expressed her concern about negative perceptions of the city as a result of Wildman’s Civil War shop continuing its Main Street operation.

Burnette, who was briefly in the lead on election night, surprised some residents who weren’t sure who she was. She did not have a candidate website or take part in candidate forums. Since she did not provide contact information on her qualifying paperwork, neither the Courier nor the Marietta Daily Journal were able to reach her to participate in election Q&As.”

It’s a “non-partisan” City Council seat. However, diging around on Orochena’s Facebook campaign page, I found her answer to someone’s question about her party affiliation, where she weasels about party affiliation, but says she usually votes Democrat and is a Progressive. So the impossible happened and one of these found vote deals knocked out the Dem.

Since 789 votes for her race were found on the mystery drive, was there an effect on any other races? No hint of that in the story, but would the drive contain votes for only one race? American elections are a laughingstock.
