Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) holds a slight lead of 1,122 votes over Democrat Adam Frisch one week after Election Day, and both candidates say a recount is likely as the race remains too close to call.
The conservative firebrand was seen as likely to cruise to a second term, so even if she holds her narrow lead after the counts are finalized, the close margin marks a major surprise in this year’s midterm elections.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Republicans are just one seat away from taking the House majority. With 12 seats still up for grabs, the GOP has multiple paths to victory in the chance that Boebert’s lead dissipates.
Both Boebert and Frisch have indicated a recount is likely in their race following the tabulation of any remaining votes, urging their supporters to donate so the campaigns can continue expending resources as the count progresses.

So how, one week out are there still so many left to decide?
It smells like cheating every time...
From what I hear, she may get one.
Yes, Democrats have figured out that doing this gives them a tremendous advantage because Republicans have decided that mail-in voting is wrong and avoid doing it.

Plenty of time to find however many ballots the Demonocrats need.
Especially Representative Boebert’s seat...
I’m glad she picked up the votes! I thought she had lost.
More like a deep and thorough audit. Actually this race needs a clean do over with NO mail in ballot harvesting.
Yes
They dropped Canon City from her district. Canon City is very conservative.
Not sure what the added.
No. Her CD was made a bit more GOP; as redrawn, Trump carried it over Biden by 8.2%.
Smith is far behind, but she has not conceded defeat, nor has that race been called.
I don’t know what they added or subtracted from CO-03 in redistricting, but the district as it existed in 2020 gave President Trump 51.6% to Biden’s 46.1% (a 5.5% Trump win), whereas, as redrawn, it gave Trump 52.9% to Biden’s 44.7% (an 8.2% Trump win).
The GOP has 217 seats and will probably get at least 4 more.
Yes she was given a gerrymander.
The population of Colorado is around 5.5 million. District 3 has what, maybe 150,000 registered voters?
It’s a vast unpopulated district that covers almost half the state and for some reason includes Pueblo.
That is wonderful news. I’ve been sweating it out seeing how everything else falls “their way” when the count goes more than a day.
Even with the change, it’s still a rural red district that was rated ‘Safe R’ prior to this election. It really should not have been close. Boebart has to be sweating bullets at the thought of a 2018-style ‘blue wave’ election.
They have 218. Right after the 218th seat was picked up (Garcia), Newt Gingrich was interviewed about the GOP getting the house.
Doesn’t matter as long as Democrats count votes we lose, regardless of how the vote really went.
“LAKE needs a recount too........that election was STOLEN.”
Recounting stolen votes is like recounting the chips at a rigged poker game.
