I am a libertarian—which is to say I believe the government should stay out of my life as much as possible. But until recently I was a conventional Republican. In fact, I spent a lot of time as a neocon. How did I get from there to here? It was the 2020 election.

We’re not going to vote our way out of this mess.
There was voter fraud just not on the level of 2020, they used the US Post Office to determine how many votes were needed to just win in a number of key states.
I was hoping we would now have enough clout to make some real change. That hope has now evaporated.
...I agree.
I think we may be stuck with this until the people are tired of what they are getting. Democrats are always looking for an “angle” and Republicans are lazy. The Dems have a gimmick that can work, but you can see that they don’t care about the product they achieve with it. It’ll get ugly until the people decide that the gimmick sucks.
Behind all this is China, which may not wait around for us to sort out our mess.
...I agree.
Sadly for this country and dejectedly, i agree.
What Republican in a senior leadership position has even mentioned a concern about voter fraud? They seem to be happy about it.
And it's our fault. We've allowed this to happen. Meanwhile, the enemy (all of la la liberaland), have been working overtime to accomplish their nefarious goals.
Give the Devil his due. And all of liberaland definitely is working at the behest of Satan.
America = Home to 3rd World level elections......
Why did DeSantis win by 20 points in a 51-49 GOP-Dem state?
THIS IS WHY: FLORIDA ARRESTS PEOPLE FOR FELONY VOTE HARVESTING. [Which is legal and massive in Rat-run states.]
“Florida state department investigating voter fraud allegations in Orlando”

The new Florida Office of Election Crimes and Security investigated a voter fraud allegation in Orange County and has referred the matter to law enforcement for possible prosecution in the alleged ballot harvesting scheme.
The Florida Department of State confirmed to the Washington Examiner that the OECS conducted a “preliminary investigation” and has since handed the complaint over to the Department of Law Enforcement.
A former Democratic candidate for an Orange County commissioner seat told the Washington Times that she provided a sworn complaint to the agency stating that left-wing groups have coordinated a scheme to collect absentee ballots from black voters in the area, sometimes changing or discarding the ballots to elect their preferred candidates.
“The [OECS] was made aware of this issue around September 1, 2022. After further inquiry, OECS received additional information related to the allegation on October 17, 2022, and performed a preliminary investigation,” a spokesman told the Washington Examiner. “Since OECS is an investigative entity and does not have authority to make arrests, the office forwarded the complaint to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for possible violation of section 104.0616, Florida Statutes.”
That section of the state statutes makes it a felony for anyone other than the voter’s immediate family to transfer an absentee ballot, with exceptions for residential care facilities. Cynthia Harris, the Democrat who made an unsuccessful bid for District 6 county commissioner in the Orlando area, said left-leaning groups would target voters likely to use absentee ballots and then show up to collect the ballot in violation of state law.
“They know a whole year ahead who they are going to target and who they’re going to prey upon,” Harris told the Washington Times. “They get them to fill out an absentee ballot request, usually a year ahead of time. Then they’ll knock on their doors, and they’ll say, ‘You received the absentee ballot, and we’re here to pick it up.’”
Harris’s complaint continues that the ballot collectors would steam open the envelopes to check if they supported their candidates and, if not, would change or discard them. She alleges that the operation has gone on for decades, that she has video evidence from 2014 and 2017, and that the group did the same thing during the 2020 election and 2022 primaries.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed the law creating the OECS in April and upped the penalty for ballot harvesting from a first-degree misdemeanor to a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. In 2021, he signed the law making it so that only relatives can handle mail-in ballots.
DeSantis has pushed for Florida to secure its elections, saying in April, “Twenty years ago, nobody thought Florida was a prime example of how to conduct elections, but we have become a national leader by running the most secure elections in the country.”
See above.
When you have Ms. Lindsey Graham (R-Boeing), Comrade Bernie Sanders (D-Cuba) and Monsignor Raphael Warnock (D-Ghetto) all voting the same way to give $45 billion of U.S. taxpayer money to Ukraine, you know you're dealing with a situation where voters don't matter.
Is it 1776 yet?
Many states with GOP majority legislatures have not done what FL managed to do: outlaw vote harvesting, making it a felony.
I agree, it will be impossible to ban vote-harvesting in states not under GOP control, but by making "legal" ballot harvesting synonymous with mass voter fraud, those states will eventually be shamed into getting on board.
And until then, their election results will be considered worse than tainted.
Shame has worked in the past. NY's Tammany Hall was run this way until public exposure and shaming. This cartoon is 150 years old, when newspapers were the media.
I am thinking that the Amendment that made Senators elected was a mistake. This ballot harvesting has to look like the Holy Grail, to them. Elections without an electorate.
Thanks for posting this great article.
This is an absolutely brilliant essay. It is elegant in its simplicity. Thanks so much for posting it.
