Infowars host Alex Jones and his company were ordered by a judge Thursday to pay an extra $473 million for promoting false conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook school massacre, bringing the total judgment against him in a lawsuit filed by the victims' families to $1.44 billion.
Connecticut Judge Barabara Bellis imposed the punitive damages on the Infowars host and Free Speech Systems.

Alex Jones may be terrible, but what purpose does it serve to render a judgement to him more than the top five richest people in the world? This means what he did was worse than actually killing someone. Seriously don’t believe what he did is worse than killing someone. Maybe someone else can verify the math, but I bet his total judgment is more than the combined total of judgments from family members who have sued somebody that killed their relative.
Just round it up to even it out. $500 mil here, $500 mil there.....

Why not make it an even $2B? or really send a message and make it a trillion. For all practical purposes it’s the same thing.

You make a great point. We have gotten to where we treat words as worse than physical violent crime. We are lost as a society.
Kind of like how people get more upset when an animal is killed, than they do when a human is killed. People talk about killing big game hunters that post pictures of the their kills all the time.
If any of those families think they’re getting any money from AJ, they’re in for a rude awakening. A billion from the last judgement and now this. AJ don’t have this kind of money just laying around. How’s that saying go...you can’t get blood from a turnip.

I’m not a fan of Alex Jones. With that said, I always thought of his show as parody, but he crossed the line with the Sandy Hook conspiracy theory.
But, if he’s liable, why aren’t certain Democrat politicians liable? They have promoted and profited from conspiracy theories that led protesters to harass people and commit violence and vandalism.
