Videos show desperate Russian troops fleeing from their burning tanks and a group of soldiers being blown up by Ukrainian missiles during a disastrous assault on a town in eastern Ukraine that saw 300 soldiers reportedly killed or wounded.
Footage shows Russian marines from the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade driving a burning T-80BVM tank, along a road in the largely destroyed town of Pavlivka, as flames and black smoke erupted from the vehicle following a Ukrainian strike.
A group of Russian soldiers can be seen climbing on top of the tank and jumping down before they ran away from the burning wreck.
Another astonishing video shows dozens of Russian marines, packed closely together, running into a deserted house in the town. A few seconds later, Ukrainian missiles rained down on them in a deadly strike.
Further footage shows Russian soldiers driving their tanks through minefields, with their vehicles erupting into flames one by one.
A number of Vladimir Putin's men can be seen lying dead in the ditches of the fields surrounding Pavlivka after they were shot by Ukrainian soldiers after they tried to flee their burning tanks.
The videos show just how calamitous Russia's assault on Pavlivka earlier this month was - and provides further evidence of Russian generals treating their recruits as 'cannon fodder'.
The assault was so disastrous that the Russian marines from the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade, who led the four-day assault, publicly criticised their 'incompetent' generals in an open letter.

Who knows what to believe in this thing, but when I see these glowing reports of alleged Ukrainian success my reaction is, “Great, then I guess we can stop sending them money and weapons now, right?”

What nonsense, “The driving through a minefield” claim is ludicrous, you can see the path of some sort of projectile (rocket? rpg? something) come from the woods into 1 of the vehicles.. the vehicle didn’t run over a mine.
Does the Daily Mail even look at what they print any more?
The Russian losses in Pavlivka are one of the worst single-operation losses for a marine brigade since the Chechen wars in the 1990s.
Tell your Putin to fire himself. He should be ashamed of himself for being such a loser.
It's a report of a particular small-unit success. True or not, there's no claim that this particular skirmish was war-changing on its own. Just a very local success.
Instead of the U.S. handing billions of dollars to Ukraine, we should be sending them our Democrats and neocons.

Your Putin lost the most Marines in 3 days at Pavlivka since the Chechen wars. These weren’t conscripts, either. He sent his best troops to their deaths yet again.

We’ve been hearing stories like this for months. How long before the Russians surrender?
There are also rumors from Ukraine that Sullivan has pressed Zelensky to launch a Kherson campaign as soon as possible. Zelensky is said to have agreed to do so.
But the Ukrainian army does not want to do that - at least not now. The Russian troops in the area have been reinforced. The fields are muddy and can not be crossed by heavy vehicles. Russian artillery attacks destroy equipment pre-positioned for the attack before it is ready to come near the front line.
The Ukrainian military has for weeks tried probing attacks in the Kherson region. These had no significant results while the attacking units had high losses. The units deployed around the region have been there since early October or longer. The Military Land deployment map shows only one unit that arrived just five days ago. The 98th Azov battalion, one of the fascist volunteer forces, has been positioned in the back of 128th Mountain Assault Brigade which, in recent weeks, has had some of the most serious losses.
The use of such 'nationalist' forces to prevent the retreat of exhausted front line units has been a regular occurrence in this war.
Ukraine has for weeks had no success on the battle field. Washington wants it to show such a success so that it can tell its allies that the war can be won by the Ukrainian side. The push for an attack on Kherson is again part of the overall campaign to convince Europeans that they should sustain the efforts to arm and support Ukraine.
The campaign is misleading. Ukraine is losing the war badly. But the U.S. wants to fight Russia down to the last Ukrainian - and down to the last Euro.
