White House chief of staff Ron Klain on Thursday said that the U.S. is not in a recession and argued that the economy is strong following the Federal Reserve’s decision to again hike interest rates.
“We are not in a recession. I want to be really, really clear on that,” Klain told MSNBC when asked what the White House is doing to prepare for a possible recession.
He noted that the U.S. is seeing a 50-year low on unemployment overall and an all-time low on Hispanic unemployment, and that more jobs have been created under the two years of President Biden’s administration “than any administration in history.”
“The economy is growing, it is strong, it is creating jobs,” he said.
He also said the stock market is strong and compared it to the stock market under former President Trump.

WH Chief of Staff. The there’s an “expert” on the economy for ya! At least when he’s not being a political hack for Jo Jo Biden.
Put down the CRACK pipe Ron!
Psychotic.
Klain et al and the final warning
Come on, Ronnie! That “50 year low in unemployment is because people are no longer eligible to receive unemployment or have learned to live off “stimulus checks” while on permanent vacation and have no interest in employment anymore. Why work when the government is going to take care of you?. Ronnie boy, you really do need to get out more in public and stop reading your own press releases. You’re a bull**** artist.
It is difficult for GDP to be down two quarters with high inflation.
I've witnessed a surge in retirements but also witnessed quite a few people quit their second job, ironically enough due to increased workload in either or both of their jobs caused by others' retirements.
We currently have a few part-time retirees in supervisory positions that were always filled by full-time employees progressing up the ladder. The company would have hired the retirees full-time but the retirees don't want it.
Having a part-time boss puts an undue burden on the subordinates - someone has to pick up the work that's not being done. The subordinates are also pissed because the retiree is blocking the upward progression since they have no intention of working harder to get promoted.
Clear, Ron????
Heck, WE CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU, you lying propagandist scumbag.
Exactly.
I want to be very very clear.. this guy Klain is a scumbag, providing false hope to those that think the worst has passed.
Inflation and recession are two different things.
Few people understand recession, which isn’t their fault given they get our “facts” from the idiot media rather than studying finance and economics.
Biden didn’t create those jobs. Those are people returning to work after Democrats shutdown businesses during the scamdemic.
He’s a lying POS
then tell you how mentally unfit you are for not swalling their lie whole.
📢 🔥 I believe you made an error there; didn’t you mean to say, “then tell you how mentally unfit you are for not ‘swallwelling’ their lie whole:? ;-)
LOL, I got “Auto-co-wrecked”!
(in actuality, I was typing too fast...:)
While there are in fact items not available in grocery stores, unless you live somewhere in the extreme boondocks, shelves are not half empty.
I counter with the anecdote that trucks still clog I 81 and commerce seems to be chugging along and lots and lots of goods being delivered.
It is my view that the recession is at present far from uniform across America although that doesn’t mean it will not become so.
He cannot tell the truth about anything.
BTW, Who appointed you? Biden? It is my view that...Blah, Blah, Blah.
Are you the official apologist/spokesperson for the Biden Administration? If so you need full disclosure of WTF you are.
It is my view that...You're so full of your own shit, your eyes are brown.
I am wise and superior to many
