A renowned Southern California pastor is calling upon Gov. Gavin Newsom to repent and “respond to the Gospel” for his controversial reelection campaign that invoked Scripture in defense of abortion.
The open letter from Grace Community Church Pastor John MacArthur dated Sept. 29 quotes the Bible numerous times in response to the campaign earlier this month, which MacArthur said “shamelessly” misquoted Mark 12:31 for Newsom’s own political purposes.
“You revealed to the entire nation how thoroughly rebellious against God you are when you sponsored billboards across America promoting the slaughter of children, whom He creates in the womb (Psalm 139:13–16; Isaiah 45:9–12),” wrote MacArthur.
“You further compounded the wickedness of that murderous campaign with a reprehensible act of gross blasphemy, quoting the very words of Jesus from Mark 12:31 as if you could somehow twist His meaning and arrogate His name in favor of butchering unborn infants,” he added.
According to MacArthur, Newsom “used the name and the words of Christ to promote the credo of Molech (Leviticus 20:1–5). It would be hard to imagine a greater sacrilege.”

Last evening, I was at a concert. In the intrrmission between acts, there were videos played. One of them was a “we won’t go back” vid.
The crowd cheered and my heart absolutely sank.
Lots of LGBT people there. Another reason it was disquieting.

Gruesome Newsom will eventually find out that he is not above the Ultimate Lawgiver.
He will ultimately look into the eyes of Christ as the little ones sing “hallelujah.” .
The great news of salvation of souls through the life and work of Jesus always will cut into the hearts of those willing to hear. I hope our leaders heed the call to repentance and salvation.

Dear Father in Heaven, please continue protect and guide your servant MacArthur as he shepherds his flock. soften the heart of Gov. Newsom. open his eyes, but if he hardens his heart, defend the innocent ones the gov intends to harm. Gov. Newsom, if you have an ear to hear the Word from God’s servant, then hear and repent. there’s still time, but tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. In Jesus’ Holy Name i pray for your eternal soul, Amen.

That was about as gracious taking to the woodshed as I’ve seen.
I watched this sermon. John MacArthur was truly grieved to state this truth, but it was with the highest love. God bless John Mac. He is the real deal. If you listen to his expositions preaching and he never makes you skirm.. . You may want to re-examine your life. That is better than hearing I never knew you.
Hubby is going to his shepherds conference next year, God willing.
