Nord Stream leaks: Sabotage to blame, says EU
BBC ^

Posted on 09/28/2022 8:15:56 AM PDT by MNDude

European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen said deliberate disruption would meet the "strongest possible response".

The EU has previously accused Russia of using gas supplies as a weapon against the West over its support for Ukraine.

But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed accusations of sabotage as "predictable, stupid and absurd

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he thought the leaks would "not have a significant impact on Europe's energy resilience". Neither pipeline is transporting gas at the moment, although they both contain gas.

Mr Blinken did not directly accuse Russia - but said it would be in "no-one's interest" if they were caused deliberately.

The benefit of Sabotage is Ukraine. I and II bypassed Ukraine and the exorbitant fees they charge the EU and Germany for use of their lines.

I'm betting the EU and Germany were discussing the use of I & II...and Zelensky said...Well, that ain't going to happen.

One thing that can be done to lessen the possibility of the US having done this is to investigate the site using ROV’s or divers if possible to sample the Ocean floor near the breaks. If the damage was done by a mk 48 ADCAP torpedo or mk 50 lightweight torpedo shot from a fast attack Submarine, there will be traces of ‘Otto fuel’ residue in a thin orange layer on the bottom. Otto fuel is a torpedo fuel used by the US, UK, the Netherlands and Australia which creates it’s own oxygen to burn. It’s by product is cyanide gas. When a torpedo hits, any unspent fuel sinks to the bottom. There is ALWAYS leftover fuel which does not perish in the explosion. It coagulates and reconstitute
similar to what happens in a lava lamp. The traces of Otto fuel do not disperse or delineate over time, in fact studies have shown that this fuel layer can remain for years. It remains in a thin layer just off the bottom as it is heavier than water and insoluble. If I was a whistle blower, I’d have someone test the bottom of Dabob bay in Washington State.

Big tell right there. These people are insane and are ready to commit genocide to prove it.

Knowing our enemies as well as we all do, is it a stretch to believe the EU, Washington & London will blame Russia for what they themselves (likely) did? And if that’s true, will it then be used to say that Russia attacked NATO, thus triggering article 5?

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but what kind of assets can Ukraine have in the Baltic that could do such a thing? If pipelines are that easily destroyed why isn’t it a more common occurrence, by for example rabid eco-terrorists.

Tech is easy. A bomb, a big magnet, a boat, and a GPS.

I bet I could do it with stuff from a feed store and Home Depot.

Here’s a stupid question.
/\
No it’s not.

Would a ship sailing into the bubbles from the large leak(s) be liable to sinking since the bubbly water would be less buoyant that normal sea water?

/\

A ship might not, but a small vessel yes.

Probably one of the reasons it’s cordoned off to traffic.

Motive, that’s an interesting question. I’d say the West.

Technology, just “borrow” an underwater pipeline Repair Vessel and associated ROV. Leave bomb on bottom to be used at later date. May have been there for months now.

Acknowledged Desire - Well we all know Biden is an asshole who likes to shoot his mouth off. Great way to make the US the Scapegoat.

Totally irrelevant. The official US statement is that we did not do this. Any evidence will be discredited and denied.

Standard operating procedure for the CIA.

Europe has zero “energy resilience”.
What drugs is Blinken taking?

Yes, lots of info on back channel talks (and Pepe is a great source...well connected to Eastern players.)

This Saudi plan has been in the works for a while now. Those strange POW transfers were arranged by Saudi. Putin allowed lots of Azov prisoners, including 5 commanders to be traded; something they had previously said they would never do. Russians were furious and no explanations have been provided to date. Guess everyone will find out why if and when the details of the peace agreement are released.
