The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he thought the leaks would "not have a significant impact on Europe's energy resilience". Neither pipeline is transporting gas at the moment, although they both contain gas.
Mr Blinken did not directly accuse Russia - but said it would be in "no-one's interest" if they were caused deliberately.

Interesting. The “theory” (propaganda) is; ‘Putin blew up the pipeline to disrupt the flow or natural gas to Europe, when all he had to do was turn off the valves. In addition, he blew up possibly Russia’s largest income producer while leaving the new Danish (I think) pipeline intact.

Does anyone believe Blinken? He’s a globalist, leftist, steaming pile of excrement. It certainly doesn’t benefit Russia. It removes Russia’s ability to hold Europe hostage. Russia only needs to state demands and threaten to turn off the pipelines. It also eliminates a major source of funding for Russia’s military endeavors.
Biden has directly stated that he has the means to shut down the pipelines. Biden doesn’t control the pipeline pumps, so exactly what are his options? He could convince the Germans to freeze to death this winter, or blow up the pipeline. Biden isn’t the only one in his administration that has stated that “we” could shut down the pipeline.
We have zero national interest in Ukraine and quite honestly where Europe gets their energy is none of our business. We could certainly export energy to Europe, but Biden’s policies don’t even let us be energy self sufficient. Democrat and RINO support for Ukraine has led to tens of thousands of deaths. More is to come this winter in Europe. They do these things while making Americans poor and America weak.
What’s really going on here is a major stride in globalism. The world’s leftist globalists want control. COVID was used to control people. Now energy and piss poor economies are being used to control people. They use climate change to control people. They need to use death to scare people into begging government for help. All they while the silence anyone with an ounce of intelligence that speaks out.

Here’s a stupid question. Would a ship sailing into the bubbles from the large leak(s) be liable to sinking since the bubbly water would be less buoyant that normal sea water?

Depends on size of vessel and the area of large leak but it has occurred before from the release of methane gas pockets on the sea floor coming to the surface.
Will be interesting to see what our “deep state” is offering. It would seem counter productive to blow up Russia’s pipelines after initiating a negotiation.
Russia responded to the Saudi peace plan by delaying formalizing the referendums by 6 days and Peskov today suggested that Russia was going to finish liberating the Donbass. It sounded like that would be the end...????
All I can think of is that Russia badly wants that “new security agreement.”
