The special master overseeing the Mar-a-Lago documents investigation has ordered former President Donald Trump's lawyers to back up out-of-court assertions that the FBI may have planted evidence at the property during their search last month.
Judge Raymond Dearie, the court-appointed special master, said in a filing Thursday that Trump's team needs to submit a sworn declaration saying if they believe the Justice Department included any items on their "inventory" of materials taken from Mar-a-Lago that were not actually seized during the search.
The declaration must include "a list of any specific items set forth in the Detailed Property Inventory that Plaintiff asserts were not seized from the Premises on August 8, 2022," Dearie wrote in the order.

Sorry! Meant “going on the offensive”.
They didn’t claim it...they speculated.
Hope Trump really has videos and not blowing hot air...
So defense attorneys must now back up out-of-court claims?
Paging Benjamin Crump . . .
IMHO it’s not “breaking news”. It’s part of the procedure. He’s saying, he wants details on the allegations Trump is making. What else is he supposed to say?
Why would you have to “back up” a statement qualified with “may”?
All you’d have to do is show they had an opportunity.
Unless there is a bullet proof chain of custody, Trump doesnt have to ‘prove’ anything.
Okay, fine. Give Trump a list of everything they took, and he will tell you what they planted. This judge is trying to get Trump’s lawyers to tip their hand and present any evidence they have now without the prosecution having to expose any of theirs.
Dearie was a judge who approved the bogus false perjured FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign.
At first I’d hoped this meant he would be angry at the DOJ as Special Master, but it looks like he was on the DOJ Deep State team all along.
It depends on how it is said. If Trump said “The FBI planted evidence”, he has to back it up. If he said “They may have planted evidence”, they have to prove they didn’t which will be hard because they turned off the cameras in the house.
Can the FBI prove they didn’t?
Why does he need to provide any proof for the statement that the FBI “may” have planted evidence?
Our Gestapo friends at the FBI invited that speculation when they refused to have Trump’s lawyers present during their raid.
Who’s to say they didn’t replace documents in their office? Do you trust the FBI? Should anyone trust the FBI?
“… This Dearie guy is now doing on the offensive against Trump’s Lawyers doing damage control to protect the DOJ/FBI from their unconstitutional raid…”

No he’s not. It’s NOT unreasonable for him to ask them to review the detailed inventory of seized items that the corrupt DOJ/FBI provides and let him know of any items on the list that were NOT at Mar-a-Lago.
That’s how I read it as well. I would expect such a formal demand, in a high profile case like as this one.
Anything to delay, roadblock or dilute the realization that today’s FBI is chock full of overpaid servants of the Democrat Party.
Was this moron tasked with judging Trump or was he brought on to judge the process. I thought it was the process.
Trump has a history of choosing poorly.
They didn’t claim it...they speculated.

True, and I know I’m going to be acused of doom-and-gloom, but I think it’s not a good sign. It seems to me this means the so-called “Special Master” has bought all-in on the DOJ/FBI position on all this, and they are trying to pin Trump down on specifics. In other words, they think they have red meat to prosecute him on, and they want him to name what he thinks it is they have planted... which of course is ludicrous because if it was actually planted, how in the hell would Trump know what it was? But you can see how the game is being played. Whether it was planted or not, the “special master” think he is cornering the queen and forcing their opponent to sacrifice chess pieces.
