Wishing for a Cat 1 is not always the best
…or at least it wasn’t for us on the coast.
Charley rapidly intensified just before FL landfall. Went from 110 MPH to 145 MPH in three hours.
Praying that Cuba’s land will weaken this system as it crosses over. I hope it will be moving fast as it comes into Florida and pulls through and out quickly.
I’ll be praying that doesn’t happen. The water is so warm in the gulf it may be a possibility though.

Hope your vacation is not cut short and welcome to Florida. We are in north Florida and watching this event closely. Yesterday they were saying the hurricane would be hitting close to us on the 30th. That’s my birthday and I was NOT looking forward to possible really bad weather. It is what it is though so we will ride it out like we have many times before. Good luck everyone.
I don’t remember the last time to the Main Stream News was so excited by a Tropical Depression. It’s been a slow year, I guess... they have so many new graphics they need to use.
