The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

I am glad your home survived, but the rest of this news is tragic. So much is lost forever.
The problem of housing the refugees of the storm seems insurmountable.
Where would they even set up the FEMA trailers?
Its especially hard on the elderly and disabled. I’ve seen photo after photo of very elderly people carried out of their homes on stretchers.
Anyone who can joke and blame the victims is unforgivably cruel. Wait ‘til tragedy comes their way. As the old saying warns: “What goes around, comes around.”
it was horrible. we were to provide daily maid service for the evacuees. and literally if they pooped on the floors in front of us they were traumatized and we were to clean it up without comment. I wouldn’t mind serving food or cleaning rooms between occupants but daily maid service and cleaning poop? for adults? no thanks. Oh and since they were traumatized this was not the time to preach the Gospel so we were told no sharing the Gospel either.
I find myself more careful with every passing year where I donate money, time or surplus goods.
Thank you for your detailed local report. My prayers are with you and your neighbors now and through your recovery. Pay no attention to the mean-spirited, self-absorbed people who post on social media. Check FRmail when you get a chance.
Funny thing. You need the gospel so much when you are traumatized.
Ah well Samaritan’s Purse it is.
Lee Health [Ft. Myers area] confirms 9 dead to carbon monoxide poisoning
Around here after a wind storm we end up with several dead people that use their charcoal grills inside the house to cook - and they are almost always Indian or Asian. Seems that over there the “charcoal” is formulated differently and can be used indoors with a bit of ventilation, which is what they grew up with. But the stuff for our grills burns far dirtier.
Oh my. Very interesting info.
SR 72 closed due to major flooding.
Major road damage CR 661 to SR 72.
Thank you for all you have done, NN
Thank you for your kind sentiments, FRiend.
Oh thank you! I’m ok now. We had some flooding and things got a bit dicey just when it seemed “normal”.
There’s a LOT of flooding even in Central Florida and parts of the east coast too. A real mess. In places off the St. John’s River the water is still rising! I haven’t even been online since I last posted. You warm my heart, thank you NN for your concern. 0Now we’re all trying to stop mold, dry out and thank GOD for this perfect weather.
It’ll be ok.
Whew! Very relieved to know you are safe. The flooding is adding insult to injury after the storm. Flooded highways are hampering relief efforts across the peninsula. Thank you for checking in.
“Franklin Graham is u abashed and unwavering in his preaching of the Gospel...”
Every time Franklin is on a TV show he preaches the gospel. I recall the controversy over the Covid tents in NYC. Went something like this (major paraphrasing, but):
“So Mr. Graham - your organization, which doesn’t hire gays, has set up tents in a public place. You really think that is okay?”
“In those tents we treat everybody. Jesus came to heal the sick. He didn’t ask them what kind of sinners they were first. We’re all sinners, but God’s mercy extends to all of us, and we’re doing what we can to heal people and let them know that God loves them. And all the people we treat, and the folks watching this at home, we tell them that God sees their hurt and their pain, and....”
We need a huge warning notice on those bags of charcoal.
I looked online and see that they have those labels - but probably not too big. Also saw one that said “coals are out when cool to the touch”. Years ago my sister tossed the coals from dinner into the woods by our cabin as she was leaving at noon the following day. Luckily she saw the flames before she pulled out and with the help of neighbors got it put out before it got too big.
My wife just had some peanuts today. Small package with “Planter’s Peanuts” as the name and big label. In small print on the back “Warning - contains peanuts”.
Yes. He is unwavering. His organization also took covid patients. everyone else took noncovid patients to free up the beds in hospitals for those with covid but would not come near covid patients themselves. No one is perfect but I feel good about donating to samaritans purse. He was preaching it on Fox news this
AM as well
My niece’s home in central Florida has 2 feet of water still in her driveway. I don’t think it’s come into the house. She evacuated to her MIL’s house. No idea when she will be able to go back. So much to clean up, but she has to wait until the water recedes.
