Pilot training has always discriminated heavily against the blind. Open up flight school to the visually impaired and you’ll widen the pool of applicants and increase diversity among the pilot ranks.

The military officers have the same problem and are worried that anything other than enthusiastic support will deter a star, or additional stars, thus reducing that retirement income or their chances for that plush job with a defense industry giant.
It has taken years to get to this point in time, via brain washing etc. and I don’t think there is an easy way of reversal which would take just as many years and that’s not going to happen. It may take some apocalyptic natural event or major war with mind boggling consequences to redirect humanity, but we are not quite there yet, but the way things are going I feel we are not too far off. What comes to mind is, that the chains of habits are too weak to be felt until they become too strong to broken.
I had my USAFA slot and wanted to be a pilot. My eyes went to 70/100 in my senior year of High School, so no pilot training for me. I should get reparations for the discrimination I had to endure.
Who is the #1 object of their hatred? Straight White Males - and among them most especially Southerners.

This government, this military, this President are an utter disgrace. I’d no more tell a son, daughter, grandson or grand daughter to join the military than I would stick my hand into a meat grinder. Let the ‘underserved’ communities take up the slack. Let them take the losses and defeats - I suspect there wouldn’t be an ‘underserved’ problem there..
