Corporations do the same nonsense: “We don’t hire based on skin color, but we want 20% of applicants to be black. We also want 5 applicants before we interview. We will select the black person from those applicants if qualified, and they will be qualified.”
Black applicant gets the job.
Pilot training has always discriminated heavily against the blind. Open up flight school to the visually impaired and you’ll widen the pool of applicants and increase diversity among the pilot ranks.
