Enlisted airmen who work in some of the Air Force's most difficult jobs will receive from $900 to $5,400 less annually beginning next month as the service faces financial challenges that affect the ranks.
Hundreds of service members will see cuts to their Special Duty Assignment Pay, known as SDAP, in fiscal 2023 -- which starts Oct. 1. Those monthly payments, ranging from $75 to $450, were an extra incentive "to compensate enlisted service members who serve in duties which are extremely difficult," according to budget documents.

To avoid the cuts, lawmakers would have to reinstate the Special Duty Assignment Pay difference in the 2023 budget proposal before it's approved by Congress...

Air Force Recruiters are set to lose their $75 in special duty pay each month for fiscal 2023, which would add up to nearly $900 a year in lost wages.

If you were a communist and you wanted to help destroy the US military, incrementally,a little bit at a time so its never noticed, you would do exactly what Obama has done.Add it all up and he wants our military to be third world, anti white, anti US, and incompetent. He's well on the way.
Let's hope we get 60-80 House seats so we can reverse near everything he's doing that requires money.
From the list, it looks like the pay cuts involve those jobs where they actually *do stuff* as opposed to the pencil pushing type jobs.
Thanks. That’s what I thought when the question came up.
Thanks for the ping.
Wasn’t that called Hazardous Duty Pay? Right, it wasn’t much, and I believe it only covered certain ratings when deployed. It didn’t include normal training exercises in port or at sea for a couple days. Been a long time.
Cut all welfare benefit—PERIOD.
I had the same thought...it has been a long time, and I thought we called it “Flight Deck Pay” but it might have been hazardous duty pay. And your memory is correct, they did have restrictions. So, if you went on a detachment about some carrier for two weeks, you didn’t get it, it had to be longer, as I recall.
And it wasn’t much (maybe $40 a month or something like that?)
LOL. Amazing I can recall anything about that at all!
I believe you’re right about being Flight Deck Pay at that time. I don’t remember the Hangar Deck guys getting extra. But then, I don’t remember what I had for dinner last night. Wait, I have to burp...standby...
Many on this list I get, but Combat Controllers? Are those the guys on the ground in ghillie suits that laser targets for incoming aircraft? They are right in the mix. There are others I questioned, but you can see many are REMF or admin types.
Heh, I’m with ya there!
Update: I had a BLT last night. Thanks for playing.
Do a search for "Florida Man" + your birthday and post what turns up
That’ll boost morale. Must be that another stupid war is coming.
Very good question.! We'd better start looking for a proper pronoun ASAP..!
“Too many chiefs. Not enough braves.”
Too many are already exiting the military (I’m talking pilots mainly) because their bonuses are being eliminated AND because they are tired of the bureaucratic process. I’m still contemplating retirement next year myself in order to get away from the idiocy I see playing out around me.
Yes they are
