A Rasmussen survey of 1,000 adults shows only 28 percent believe electric vehicles are “practical for most drivers.” Meanwhile, a clear majority of 54 percent say they are not. Eighteen percent are unsure.
When asked to look a decade into the future, which will be just a few years before California outlaws gas-powered vehicles, a whopping 69 percent say it is “very” (37 percent) or “somewhat” (32 percent) likely that most cars will run primarily on gasoline. Only 23 percent disagree.

Anybody want to venture a guess about how many of this 28% is either a Math or Engineering Major?
I Guess ZERO! Damn Woke Retards.
Electric makes some sense inside city limits, in light vehicles. Outside of city limits, other power sources are necessary.
Collectivists, ever wise, can only think one size fits all.
Even forgetting about trucks, there’s probably 20 years of infrastructure upgrades needed to make electric cars as a feasible replacement.
Except most of the same advocates for electric cars want to use green energy to charge electric cars. That’s a complete nonstarter unless the goal is to keep people locked up at home or reliant on public transportation.
If there was an initiative to build more nuclear power plants and to come up with a plan to make it possible to recharge an electric car’s battery 5 to 10 minutes, then maybe you could have an adult conversation about switching to electric vehicles.
We’re decades away from that point right now and the government should be focused on increasing output of fossil fuels. The government views us as subjects and not citizens.
“I appreciate your input on the EV’s, and their progress. Do you work in the EV field, or just an observer?”
Just a retired engineer.
No one has come up with a rise in electric prices since electric will become rarer. And then there will be the road tax. The there will be the rise in insurance for these fire bombs.
Then your homeowners will go up, too.
Then there's the fact that these vehicles will do absolutely nothing to change the climate.
I think its called investments. No one hard sells like this without being fully vested.
OK , the clown has spoken
actually I find it absolutely frightening if it is true, I can believe it though, after how people fell for this "pandemic" crap, they will fall for anything, especially if they have a degree
> Tesla Model S gets 752 miles of range with ONE’s new energy-dense battery pack
That I can afford ;-)
You’re right. There is no way rail can reach all the places stuff needs to go, when it needs to be there.
Someone gives me $40,000 that must be spent on an EV. I would buy a Hyundai Kona. It has very good range for the money

50% of the sheeple will always be in the lower half of relative intelligence.
About a third will be worse than that. Just proved it.
“But for towing, hauling, vacations or longer range commutes I don’t think we have the technology or charging infrastructure for that yet.”
Towing: Significant range reduction and infrastructure concerns.
Vacations: 200 miles range on 20 minute charge gives an east 4-500 miles per day. Who really wants to travel more than that everyday on vacation.
Long range commutes: How long? 50 miles one way? Tha would be about 30 kwhrs RT. About 4 hours of charging at home with a plug-in or less than 2 hours with a hard-wired charger.
“I Guess ZERO! Damn Woke Retards.”. What is your major?

I Guess ZERO! Damn Woke Retards.”
I have a BS and MS in Engineering and I resent you calling fellow creepers “Damn Woke Retards”.
” I wouldn’t say that we are their yet, but it ain’t going away.”
Still in its infancy but not going away. Tesla could be producing 600 mile range cars but Musk says the the market for them is not there.
Kona:
Limited warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
Powertrain warranty covers 10 years or 100,000 miles
