Personally if I was an oil company selling products in those states, I would announce that in order to support this transition we will be reducing oil supply by 8% per year until 2035 when we will stop supplying oil products.

It has been asked by owners many times in my condo complex to install chargers.

I lived in an apartment complex for over 20 years here in Michigan, thru mild winters and bad winters.

In a bad or normal winter, after a heavy snow fall, parking lot chargers would be inaccessible due to the way the lot is plowed and the tenants would be required to hand shovel a spot next to a charger just to use it.

I also can't imagine a 200 unit complex installing enough chargers for all the resident renters.

It not a question of physics. If a unit of energy that produced 1 million BTUs required 1.1 million BTUs of energy to extract, you wouldn’t go get it.

There will be a huge market for “slightly used” vehicles.
I bet they will even pay people to use the vehicles a little bit to be allowed on the market!

All false. We have LOTS of oil and gas and coal we can extract even with current technology - Hundreds of years’ worth in our own country. That is to say nothing of Nuclear energy. Uranium is not exactly rare.

We are not going to conserve our way out of needing large amounts of energy. Wind and Solar are boondoggles. Neither is reliable nor does either produce anywhere near enough energy at anything approaching an affordable cost.

I’m from your neck of the woods but now live in maryland (thanks to the useless Jenny Granholm)

Baltimore is mostly tow home with street parking. People often have to park several blocks from home.

Electric is going to work great.

I think TPTB have thought about it. They know this is a disaster for the majority which is their goal. We stay like prisoners at home and what electricity there is will be used to transport them wherever they want to go.

How about FIRETRUCKS?

Fleeing raging fires in fire prone California, Washington, and Oregon in an electric vehicle. Stupidity on the highest level.

It will be 2050 before there is sufficient technology to sustain zero fossil fuel vehicles. We are in its infancy and politicians are trying to put infants into the workforce. Rushing it will only cause pain and suffering and massive govt overreach.

It’s very simple. Neither California nor Washington has the electric grid infrastructure to support a wholesale shift to that mode of transportation, period. And it WON’T.

Of course, leftist government will go through the motions of programs and massively funded efforts to make that support structure so, but it will turn out like Callie’s High Speed Rail debacle. No doubt they’ll clamor, beg and threaten their EVs to Washington and will get a few years’ funding, but nothing will come from it. It will just enrich leftist politicians who learned their trade from the likes of Pelosi, et al.

So the big question is why? Why do this? Are the Greenie votes that important? Do they really care? No. They don’t.

It’s all about power and control, and mandating disastrous actions like this is meant to do one thing - solidify control and force the populace into sh!thole cities where government will pretend that mass transit will solve all their problems.

Vote with your feet, citizens and take your tax dollars with you. Just don’t come to my state if all you want is more California bullsh!t spending that doesn’t affect you.
