All false. We have LOTS of oil and gas and coal we can extract even with current technology - Hundreds of years’ worth in our own country. That is to say nothing of Nuclear energy. Uranium is not exactly rare.
We are not going to conserve our way out of needing large amounts of energy. Wind and Solar are boondoggles. Neither is reliable nor does either produce anywhere near enough energy at anything approaching an affordable cost.
Prudhoe Bay field was discovered in 68. The biggest strike in North America. Started pumping 10 years after that. Hit peak production 10 years after opening. Today it produces 20% of it's peak. That's 50 years. The growth in GDP since 68 had been staggering. Imagine that kind of growth for another 50 years. How many Prudhoe Bays will you have to find to keep up with that?
Thorium is much less rare and produces waste that is much less long lived.
China is building a Thorium pilot plant as we speak.
Our country has stupidly surrendered our lead in nuclear power technology.
We have regulated the industry to death and not supplied the industry with Federal funds to make up for the regulations. In fact most of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s budget comes from charging the power plants for regulating them.
