Biden White House facilitated DOJ's criminal probe against Trump, scuttled privilege claims: memos
Just The News ^ | 08/22/2022 | John Solomon

Posted on 08/22/2022 5:22:13 PM PDT by Kevin in California

Long before it professed no prior knowledge of the raid on Donald Trump’s estate, the Biden White House worked directly with the Justice Department and National Archives to instigate the criminal probe into alleged mishandling of documents, allowing the FBI to review evidence retrieved from Mar-a-Lago this spring and eliminating the 45th president’s claims to executive privilege, according to contemporaneous government documents reviewed by Just the News.

The memos show then-White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su was engaged in conversations with the FBI, DOJ and National Archives as early as April, shortly after 15 boxes of classified and other materials were voluntarily returned to the federal historical agency from Trump’s Florida home.

By May, Su conveyed to the Archives that President Joe Biden would not object to waiving his predecessor’s claims to executive claims, a decision that opened the door for DOJ to get a grand jury to issue a subpoena compelling Trump to turn over any remaining materials he possessed from his presidency.

The machinations are summarized in several memos and emails exchanged between the various agencies in spring 2022, months before the FBI took the added unprecedented step of raiding Trump’s Florida compound with a court-issued search warrant.

The most complete summary was contained in a lengthy letter dated May 10 that Acting National Archivist Debra Steidel Wall sent Trump’s lawyers summarizing the White House’s involvement.

Absolutely!

Every Republican (except Rand Paul) stood in unison to protect the fake whistleblower that even had the form changed because he didn’t have first hand information!

The Republicans had the Senate Intel Committee and the Judiciary - but they just backed up a FBi / Schiff trick.

We’re going into last quarter of 22, and the Republicans guy is still investigating 2015. They put together Impeachment in 45 days, and the GOP caused them no pain or penalty. If they had called James Biden, you’d never see another Impeachment in your lifetime. They only rushed into the second impeachment because the Republicans didn’t make the first one difficult or painful.

Trust me, it’s Joe B. Joe Biden lied about this. Why would he lie?

He lied and said Comey didn’t brief him - and it’s right in Comey’s memo that Biden suggested what statutes they could charge Trump’s team with.

So one President can just strip a former President of executive privilege?

I find that unbelievable.

BeijingBiden ORDERED the raid when he publicly told the DOJ to get more aggressive.
His only defense will be he doesn’t remember.

Biden can’t waive Trumps privilege.

I agree but Biden's word on it was good enough for the DOJ. Whether it's good enough for a judge is an open question. The law doesn't matter, the judge's politics will decide. Welcome to the 21st century, instead of the flying cars and robots they promised us we have undisguised political persecution and newspapers demanding censorship. Yay.

This will go to the Supreme Court. Presidential privilege is meaningless if the next president can waive it on the previous president.

“By May, (Jonathan) Su conveyed to the Archives that President Joe Biden would not object to waiving his predecessor’s claims to executive claims”

if true...it could be the biggest scandal of all.

The Federalist Society: Jonathan Su, Partner, Latham & Watkins LLP
In his prior role as Special Counsel to President Barack Obama, Mr. Su advised the President and senior White House and Executive Branch officials on a wide range of matters, including Congressional investigations, risk management, nominations and personnel issues, litigation matters involving the White House, and matters relating to the DOJ. He also advised the President on executive clemency matters. Mr. Su’s responsibilities at the White House Counsel’s Office included engaging with senior officials of several cabinet agencies, including the Departments of Justice, the Treasury, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, and several offices within the Executive Office of the President...

You can blame your hang-ups and problems on your parents until you’re 35. Then you’re supposed to have outgrown that phase, if you’re about anything at all.

So the “Acting National Archivist, Debra Steidel Wall,” with zero legal training, in her position all of what, 60 days? upon urging of some never-Trump lowlife in OLC, decided to waive executive privilege of the former President.

Nevermind established precedent.

Nevermind if any current President can waive EP for his predicessor, then EP is gone.

This won’t stand, legally. What a chickenshit move by DOJ!!!!

If the succeeding president can revoke the executive privilege of his predecessors, then there is no such thing as presidential privilege. This is the biggest constitutional crisis in the history of the country.

We know that it ex post facto laws punishing acts that are not illegal in the past are unconstitutional. What about ex post facto nullification of a former president's executive powers?

The Biden/Obama gang has already used the DOJ/FBI to act as if we lived in a temporary banana republic. If they don't back down from political pressure, or the courts allow Biden to nullify Trump's executive privilege, we could have a permanent banana republic.

As Victor Davis Hanson explains, we no longer live in a constitutional Republic, but rather a “radical democracy”, where the people in power do whatever they want, regardless of the law or the Constitution. They want to stop Trump? They just take whatever means they can think of to accomplish it. At this point they’re non-violent means, but at some point they might go to the extreme. It’s a lawless administration with a senile old man at the top and handlers pulling his strings.

Where’s the opposition to this madness? Mitch?? Where are you?
