Americans suffering under the crushing weight of historic inflation should be happy to know they can reduce their energy costs by weatherizing their homes, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on "Fox News Sunday."
"If you are low income, you can get your home entirely weatherized through the expansion from the bipartisan infrastructure laws, a significant expansion — you don't have to pay for anything," Granholm said.
"If you want heat pumps, insulation, new windows, that is covered," she continued. "If you are moderate income, today you can get 30% off the price of solar panels. Those solar panels can be financed, so you don't have to have the big outlay at the front … it's a significant incentive."
Even Americans who don’t qualify can see some perks next year, she added.
"If you don't qualify for the weatherization program, you will be able to, starting next year, get rebates on the appliances and equipment that will help you reduce your monthly energy bill by up to 30%," she added. "That is all about reducing costs for people."
Critics on social media ripped the Energy Secretary for being so out-of-touch.

love that song...Eight Six Seven Five Three Oh NIYIYINE!
Biden must have an IQ ceiling for secretaries, like 65.
Have solar panel prices jumped 30% just like electric car prices jumped by enough to swallow the whole subsidy?
this is what an out of touch evil LEFTY elitist does
you are going to want these pennies on the dollars energy savings cuz
your electric bill is going to go thru the roof from our green energy policies
they see themselves as saviors
US natural gas prices are exploding upward today. Many Americans will be cold this winter. Yes, it is Biden’s fault for putting Ukraine above Americans.
That’s what happens when you put equivocal, unreasonable, unaccountable females in charge who don’t really care about their actual job, but are there mainly to compete with men.
Madness.
😎✌🎤
I’d prefer we increased domestic energy production by 30%
I thought Harris had to break the tie on the Democrat climate bill because no Republicans in the Senate voted for it. No Republicans in the House voted for it, either.
Granholm is trying to confuse voters by lumping everything into "bipartisan infrastructure laws" even though this was passed on party lines.

It’s like they are begging for a French style revolution — so they can crush it.
Breakeven analysis is way over the head of government bureaucrats—and of course folks who are cash poor cannot do any kind of capital investment.
It is like telling people that government is giving 30% discounts on custom Jaguars—so now they are affordable!
I just wish my wood splitter ran on unicorn farts.
I don’t think the dollar price of solar/wind is the whole story. People who can read probably wouldn’t vote for Granholm anyway(if they could). If she (Granholm) could read then somebody needs to point her toward some excellent articles on “green energy” which point out the ultimate inability of it to ever supply the nation’s energy needs. If I can read & understand this business, then why can’t a supposedly highly educated person, such as I assume Ms. Granholm is, read it & understand it? I don’t understand why people are being pushed into supporting this energy, when it has been effectively pointed out that it is NOT the answer & nothing more than an expensive dead end experiment in futility.
“girl power” run amok!

It had the support of both parties.. Socialists AND Communists..
We need you, the public, to take out more debt - so that we can keep the economy from cratering.
Anybody remember "Cash for Clunkers"?
Like the $7500 tax credit on new EVs which the car companies suck right into their new price 🤣
This woman is so far out of touch the James Webb telescope couldn’t see her.
“”If you want heat pumps, insulation, new windows, that is covered,” she continued.”
If you’re poor and are somehow able to find a contractor with time to install a heat pump for you...guess what, that heat pump will double as an air conditioners, adding further to summertime loads. Good luck there!
