The majority of Americans would rather a national popular vote total decide presidential elections than the Electoral College vote totals, a survey from the think tank Pew Research Center has found.
The survey sampled more than 6,000 Americans, discovering that 63 percent would prefer presidential elections be decided by the national popular vote. Conversely, just 35 percent of respondents favored keeping “the current system, in which the candidate who wins the most votes in the Electoral College wins the election,” the survey found.

True.
PEW on surveys liberals. A third of them said this is that’s nuts.

That’s refreshing, I expected worse when 75% of the people are stupid, so the 63% shows there’s not as many stupid Americans as I thought there were, just too many, regardless.
Yes. That is precisely why we are a representative Constitutional Republic and not a democracy.
100% of lions want lamb for dinner.
A popular vote administered by state governments would result in competitive vote total inflation between the most partisan states. California already counts dubious ballots and would ramp it way up. Texas would likely respond by doing the same. There is already enough vote fraud. On the other hand if the feds counted the vote nobody opposing the corruption in DC would ever win again.
They surveyed only folks in DC and California, right?
63% are ignorant and/or anti-Americans.
And oddly enough, the same 63% have either not read the US Constitution at all or, if they did read it, do not understand what they read.
Thankfully, the Founding Fathers were wiser.
Yes, well get the constitution changed than. It only takes 13 States to say no and the proposed amendment is history. Good luck with that. As if 60% of the States want their Prez chosen by California and New York.
It is a Pew poll of US adults, we have no idea if they are even citizens.
Additionally, there are no internals so we have no idea the partisan breakdown of R/D/I.
We are a union, states wouldn’t be members with out representation, so they should ask if they want the United States broken up that’s what the question should have been
If that’s the case, the Dem nominee only needs to run up the vote as much as possible in the northeast, Illinois and the West Coast and they’re as good as elected.
Our founding fathers weren’t f***ing idiots. That’s why they set up the Electoral College.
Left wing bias !
In 2016 a liberal co-worker patiently explained to me that even if Trump won the popular vote he wouldn’t win because the witch had the electoral college vote tied up with california and new york.
Three wolves and two sheep voting on what’s for dinner.
63 percent of “Americans” want a second civil war ...
This is the kind of baloney the Democrats release when they are in trouble.
Here are the real issues: Inflation, illegal immigration, billions to Ukraine.
