GOP Senate candidate won’t back Trump in 2024: ‘I hope he doesn’t run’

The Republican nominee for Senate in Colorado said on “The Ross Kaminsky Show” on Friday that he hopes neither President Biden nor former President Trump runs for president in 2024.

“As far as Trump’s concerned, I hope he doesn’t run,” Joe O’Dea said on the radio program. “I don’t want to see him as president.”

O’Dea continued: “I think a lot of people are ready to move our country forward. So I wouldn’t support him running again.”

The construction company executive sharply criticized Biden as well, calling him “the worst president we’ve ever had.”

President Trump smokes out another RINO.

How do GOP state parties even allow trash like this on the ballot ? Open Demonrats running as RINOs should be immediately stripped from running.

You know what George Carlin had to say about bipartisanship.

What I usually say about bipartisanship is that Republicans are stooges being set up for a scam. I know that others think they are complicit, but I think they are mostly just easily rolled. Republicans just don't see the bigger deception the Democrats are scheming.

Just look at McConnell getting rolled over the reconciliation move by Schumer after all these years of working with him. Complicit or blindsided?

McConnell knows the score. If McConnell was an outsider, they’d have exposed his indiscreet “secret” from the ‘60s long ago. You go along with the program, nobody hears about your “secrets.”

No that is not it. I will vote against him in the primaries in two years. Mainly because I think his time has come and gone. He did one thing by showing us how corrupt our system has become. But I believe he has lost focus and is more interested in just winning an election again. See when he wins in 2024 he is automatically a lame duck. The Swamp and the Democrats will just delay from 2017to 2021 and run time out. You saw what they did to delay things then and they will do it again. I will vote for him if he is the only choice. I just believe we have a better choice.

Could be strategy - Colorado is not a Trump friendly state and the Democrat/communist in the seat is vulnerable. Take a wait and see on this one.

BTW yes I know he beat Trump’s guy but he can win and if Cruz or Hawley are the Leader O’Dea will be marginalized.

From the article

O’Dea continued: “I think a lot of people are ready to move our country forward. So I wouldn’t support him running again.”

As soon as Trump is out of the picture, most everyone reverts back to the same ol’ lame-o.

If that's the case, then there's no real point in electing Trump anyway He's 78 already and limited to just one term in any case.

Putting so much faith in any one man is more characteristic of South American caudillo culture than that of this country.

Maybe people like this are thinking about what’s best for the country and what they think happens to be different than what you think. Who knows, they might be right.

“I just believe we have a better choice.”

Trump championed just about every conservative wet dream there is while in office, and accomplished most of them by vote, rules and regulations, veto of bad bills, and by his endless optimism. He also exposed the total corruption of the Dem party, the MSM, Big Tech, and corruption in politics in general.

You are disloyal to the one that “brung us to the dance.” Trump was one of the best Presidents conservatives have ever had and you turn your back on him, because basically, you don’t like him. You are just as bad as the soccer moms that were fed a line by the MSM that they shouldn’t like Trump because he posted mean tweets.

You just don’t like him; it’s so obvious, because your reason(s) for not wanting him to run are lousy ones. I don’t swallow your motivations for not backing Trump for even one nano second. Disloyalty towards a man who brought so much of the conservative wish list to fruition, is not an attractive trait.

Not only that, but many younger politicians don't have the ability to go up against the legal warfare launched by the Democrats and their DOJ and CIA allies. Does anyone think Ron DeSantis has the ability to withstand legal attacks that Donald Trump has?

Agreed! Few could endure what Trump has endured. The best case scenario is to let a hardened and wiser Trump finish his work on the swamp and let someone else like DeSantis come in after the cleanup. Trump has learned a great deal about loyalties and may God bless him for being willing to keep up the fight. DeDantis would be far more effective if more of the dirty work has been done before he comes in.
