I talked to a dairy farmer in Ireland who was forced to kill his entire herd in 2001 or so. He stopped giving the “girls” traditional names after that, like Daisy, Molly, etc. All his cows after that were tagged with numbers.

Ten years later those same agricultural agents were begging those same farmers to “Increase beef production” for the war effort.
Kind of hard to do when your seed stock was shot and buried ten years before.
Roosevelt did that in the thirties at the height of the depression. Didn’t work except to make more cattlemen go broke.
And it will make ZERO difference to the planet. If anything it will do more harm than good.
Free range cattle make divots in the ground for seeds and water to accumulate in so new growth can occur. Take that away and you can turn a fairly green vibrant area into a barren wasteland thereby cutting down on CO2 to O2 production nature so conveniently provided.

If the cows are killed where do the climate change zealots expect the Irish get milk, butter, cheese and meat or are the people expected to just start eating bugs?
