The pro-life movement suffered a defeat in Kansas on Tuesday when the state overwhelmingly voted to uphold abortion “rights.”
The vote in Kansas on Tuesday centered on whether or not the state would remove abortion rights protections in the State Constitution, potentially paving the way for “state lawmakers to pass far-reaching abortion restrictions, or even to pursue a ban,” according to the New York Times.
With 76 percent reporting, the “No” votes to keep abortion rights in place beat the “Yes” votes by double digits – 62.2 percent versus 37.7 percent as of this writing. Both NBC News and the New York Times have projected “No” as the referendum winner.
Abortion activists and Democrat lawmakers celebrated the victory.
“This is huge: abortion rights were on the ballot for the first time since Roe, and the people of Kansas voted to preserve access,” tweeted Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). “I’m grateful down to my toes for everyone who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks.”

if they ever discover a test that will tell you if your baby in the womb is gay, the queers will be completely pro life.
No question.
Strategically targeted election Murder Inc. knows how to touch all the bases their end goal $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Might have been Missouri claim jumpers, just like last time (1855-61), except not exclusively from Missouri.

She’s “grateful down to her toes for everyone who helped,” meaning to persons other than the voters.
“who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks.”
The ballot measure itself is “dangerous,” because it leaves the choice to the voters.
My spider sense is tingling and it’s saying “ballot fraud”.
They chose individual rights.
Kansas has already had an increased number of people coming from more restrictive neighboring states for abortion. Not all people having sex get abortions from carelessness in birth control. Two very sad events for people who wanted the child they conceived are those who have an ectopic pregnancy or a fetal death. I was born before WW2, but when the war ended my parents wanted more children. My mother had a miscarriage and fortunately her body expelled the dead fetus completely. Sometimes the body does not do that, and there can be long waits in proving that failure to find a heartbeat proves death, and doctors are now afraid to act. Delays in removing a rotting fetus can cause serious health results and even maternal death. An ectopic pregnancy often happens when an egg is fertilized before it leaves the fallopian tube to settle in the womb where it belongs. There is no way to move such a fetus from the tube to the womb and have it implant itself. About 1% of pregnancies are ectopic. I just saw that a woman in Europe won a medal in a current competition. She had an ectopic pregnancy not too long ago. Should she have been condemned to death by excessively restrictive laws? By the way, my mom did have 2 sons afterwards.
Those who vote for cesspool values may they inherit their stinking bilge to wallow in it. Let’s face it - we live in a culture of decay and garbage. God however is good and we cling to Him and choose glorious life now and everlasting.
“I will BET YOU, that the wording of that choice was deliberately designed to confuse the voter.”
Why do you belive the ballot language would confuse Pro Life voters?
Occam’s Razor : People like killing babies.
This is the truth.
Any further restrictions will require a vast change in hearts and minds before they will be accomplished via the ballot box.
Those who think otherwise will find themselves on the losing side in elections.
Kansas is 11% black
Mississippi is 40% black
Kansas voted 56% for Trump two years ago
Mississippi voted 58% for Trump two years ago
Despite having nearly 4X as many blacks as Kansas ,Mississippi voted two points more for Trump
It’s not hard to see that northern whites even in the Midwest are markedly more liberal or leftist than southern whites
It’s ALWAYS been this way despite neocons trying to rewrite history to demonize southern GOPe whites and our history to deflect racism smears from the left
One note: it’s becoming much harder to glean exit polls on race it used to be every state had them. But now exit polling companies are quitting doing that
“My understanding is that it was confusing language and the pro-life side didn’t realize it.”
Why is it you understanding that conservative Pro Life voters in Kansas would get confused by simple ballot language?
Yep, we’ve got a “White” problem.
Matt Gaetz, the perfect example of a man who knows how to shoot himself and a cause in the foot. See how he helped raise 3/4ths of a $million for the choice cause.

The hay seeds, many of whom, probably didn’t understand the referendum. It should have asked “abortion yes or no”.
Great point. Something that is missed in the superficial analysis that we see everywhere. Trump did turn away a lot of white voters.
Not since we passed an amendment, no. Before that, yes.
In my heart and soul, I agree with you. Adoption is always an option, or at worst foster care.
Another poster mentioned real issue like ectopic pregnancies. I get it.
It should NOT, EVER, be simply for convenience.
The fact that Roe existed changes the moral fabric of America.
