The state agency is considering changes to the current NEM program, where solar energy users put excess energy into the state’s power grid to receive credits on their monthly bills.
The proposed changes would eliminate this financial incentive and reversely tax users per month simply for having rooftop solar.

Just call it a disposal fee.
If you drive a car, car, I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit, sit, I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold, cold, I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk, walk, I’ll tax your feet
There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. Leftist gonna tax. Simple as that.
TANSTAAFL
If a homeowner or business received tax incentives to install solar, then the issuing government agency should receive the income from putting energy back into the grid until the tax incentive has been fully paid back.
I would never consider a grid tied system. Most grid operators are slightly more trustworthy than fedgov.
All those incentives to go solar will slowly get taken back in some way.
Just wait till EV owners are taxed for their electrical power up at the same rate gas/diesel owners pay at the pump..
Let me tell you how it will be

I can’t find any waste or toxic waste facility that takes anything other than lead acid batteries in the shasta area.
There might be one but I can’t find it.
Disposal is a whole other can of watermelon worms.
( I’m not anti solar ,,,, but,,, lots of issues with it ),)
Yep. Same with wind.
Joe Manchin said to UpChuck Shumer, “If we tax our brains, we can figure this out.” UpChuck realized that taxing brains would be a boon for the Democrats as most have little brain power so they would be taxes less than non-Democrats.
Any new taxes will be partially offset by the solar depletion allowance.

If the Democrats could figure out how, they would tax oxygen.
Im actually thinking about putting solar at our ranch house. And disconnecting from the electric company there. As old as I am the components should out last me….
In the same vein, Atlas Shrugged is as relevant as it was when it was published 65 years ago.
We have a free station in our town...Is it fair to us who buy gas?? Of course not...and we’re paying for the station, too.
Suckers, you fell for it, enjoy.

********
Da already do at least some of it. There are taxes involved in
the oxygen provided in some uses, health, airplanes, work, etc.
I don’t understand dealing with non-tangibles. It’s like giving back some “air” because you didn’t use it all in xxx number of hours! Like carbon credits - need a good imagination to even understand it. I’m speaking for myself - perhaps others get it! I just plain don’t!
