Russia has said its forces have destroyed two U.S.-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, also known as HIMARS, in Ukraine.
The number adds to the four HIMARS launchers that Russia claimed to have destroyed over a two-week period in July.
A "high-precision" strike in Kharkiv took out the systems and killed 53 people, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesperson for the Russian defense ministry, said in an announcement on Monday, according to Russian state news agency TASS.
"As a result of a high-precision strike in the city of Kharkiv, on the territory of the Ukrainian Energy Machines plant, two American launchers of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems were destroyed," Konashenkov said. "53 Ukrainian nationalists and foreign mercenaries were also destroyed."

Counter battery fire is a bitch. Especially if it is with MRLs instead of tube artillery.
Putinist claims....
Putinist propaganda would claim that they have conquered all the way to Moldova.
“Nato started this... in Kosovo”
Kosovo was Serbia, stopping them bombing the Albanians in Kosovo.
I agree that that was wrong of NATO.
however, that is NOT justification for Russia attacking Ukraine. The cases are not at all the same
DesertRhino “They were conducting ethnic cleansing and artillery strikes on that area on civilians. It’s long established under international law that this was ok to kill the ones doing it. Lugansk and Donetsk both declared independence and asked an ally for military assistance.”
The only ethnic cleansing was conducted and is being conducted by the Muscowites.
Lugansk and Donetsk were invaded by Russian provocateurs in 2014 who started an armed rebellion.
It would be as if Germany sent in rebels to the Czech republic and those rebels declared “independence” and then Nazi Germany responded to an “ally asking for military assistance” —> wait, that did happen in 1938.
Putin in 2014 did the same thing Hitler did in 1938.
That's the situation as of 29th July.
That doesn't look like "Surrounded"
and look at the situation on March 10th
putin's army was pushed BACK.
Turkey hasn’t “eased tension” - Turkey as per a 1930 international treaty allows shipping within.
As to “free trade and sailors rightS” — it’s the Russians who are preventing that.
That sir, is a lie.
Putin told the Ukrainians to "demilitarize" i.e. give up their weapons so Putin could invade next time and to become a vassal state.
It would be like Mexico invading and taking Texas and parts of oklahoma and then saying "let's talk, but first acknowledge that we control what we have now"
as to where is Poland? Romania? Latvia? Lithuania? Estonia? why are we there? -- have you even read what these countries are supporting?
What do you define as "ukie" and "Russian"?
Putin has stated since the early 2000s that he does not see Ukraine as a legitimate state, that it should be reunited under Muscowy, etc.
And this has been validated by Medvedev's recent statement
Donbas as a Ukrainian region until April 2014 had no “genocide” to be seen until this guy came along
.Igor Vsevolodovich Girkin, aka “Strelkov”, a Muscovite and Russian “patriot”, aka ultranationalist, snuck across the border with 50-odd Russian volunteers (from the RF) and took Slaviansk by force on 12 April 2014.
Strelkov bolstered his forces with a few thousand local riffraff, mostly petty criminals and bandits. By June 2014 their advances had been stalled
In that same month Girkin (not a Ukraine resident) became "Minister of Defence of the (self-proclaimed) DPR". The rest is what we call history.
there’s also Girkin’s verbündeter Alexander Yurevich Borodai, another Russian ultranationalist from Moscow and the first “Prime Minister of the DPR” (now a United Russia MP in the state Duma).
In 2014 Ukraine was taken over in a US-sponsored coup
Lugansk and Donetsk didn't rebel. Properly speaking: you can't rebel against a coup.
Lugansk and Donetsk separated themselves from an illegitimate, undemocratic regime: a regime that moreover sought to deny their identity as Russian speakers.
People in Odessa famously pushed for separation as well. Unfortunately they were far from Russian support, and were massacred by coup-sympathisers
You don’t think Russian spies are embedded in Ukraine military?
Putin not seeing Ukraine as a legitimate state does not, in no way, shape or form, infer that Russia wants the territory of Ukraine lock stock and barrel, other than the eastern regions, which Russia will likely keep/hold. But at any rate, the second largest country in Europe will indeed become smaller come the conclusion of this conflict.
But we can always look the coming bright future of Ukraine after they have defeated the Russians:
lulz.
I believe that Russia will push for the whole Ukrainean coast down to the mouth of the Danube: and also linking up with Transnitria.
The most likely border for the rest of Ukraine would - I guess - run broadly along the Dneiper river but with Kherson & Odessa incorporated into the Russian-aligned zone.
In the west: I’m not sure how far Poland will go with its irredentist claims on Lvov. But yes, I do expect that post-war Ukraine will be smaller.
If the neocons continue to pump weapons into NW Ukraine to maintain it as a permanant war ‘cash-cow’, then Russia may have to go further.
There’s no “high-precision.” The psychopathic Russians lie about nearly everything. They’re hitting civilians and civilian buildings in Kharkiv with artillery weapons that are not accurate.
In regards to loose artillery barrages in other areas, the Russians have been using to drones with video to zoom in on objects and imply that the video is from smart missiles. That’s retarded.
For the most part, agreed.
However, I do speculate that Russia will push further to compensate for the 300km HIMAR missiles to arrive in September. Lavrov has pretty much spelled out as much a week plus ago concerning those US extended range HIMAR missiles being sent to Ukraine.
I merely posted that map of Ukraine by Medvedev for the giggles.
I hadn’t looked at that map, and so hadn’t realised that Medvedev had made such an open invitation to the Poles.
(Good night guys)
