Russia has said its forces have destroyed two U.S.-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, also known as HIMARS, in Ukraine.
The number adds to the four HIMARS launchers that Russia claimed to have destroyed over a two-week period in July.
A "high-precision" strike in Kharkiv took out the systems and killed 53 people, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesperson for the Russian defense ministry, said in an announcement on Monday, according to Russian state news agency TASS.
"As a result of a high-precision strike in the city of Kharkiv, on the territory of the Ukrainian Energy Machines plant, two American launchers of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems were destroyed," Konashenkov said. "53 Ukrainian nationalists and foreign mercenaries were also destroyed."

They were conducting ethnic cleansing and artillery strikes on that area on civilians. It’s long established under international law that this was ok to kill the ones doing it. Lugansk and Donetsk both declared independence and asked an ally for military assistance.
This is precisely what we did in Kosovo, and what we are doing right now in half of Syria. I guess it’s a bitch to get back what you give out.

1. It is likely that Russia is exaggerating, if not completely lying.
2. The number of these longer range and highly accurate rocket launchers in Ukrainian hands is growing significantly.
The truck mounted HIMARS fires the same rockets interchangeably with the tracked M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) that the Ukraine is receiving from several countries, as well as the heavier German MARS II variant it is also now receiving. All three types of launchers are now on the ground in the Ukraine, and more are coming.
The Ukrainian deep strike capability, already changing the balance of the Artillery war, is on track to continue growing.
