There is no one in the Democrat party or Democrat media axis fit to shine this man’s boots.

Meet Ron Desantis. Born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida.

[1] He is of Italian descent.

2] His family moved to Orlando, Florida, before relocating to Dunedin, Florida, when he was six years old.

[3] In 1991, he was a member of the Little League team from Dunedin National that made it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

[4] After graduating from Dunedin High School in 1997, he attended Yale University. He was Captain of Yale varsity baseball team and joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

[5] On the Yale baseball team, he was an outfielder; as a senior in 2001, he had the team’s best batting average at .336.

[6] He graduated from Yale in 2001 with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in History.

[7] He then spent a year as a History Teacher at the Darlington School.

8] He attended Harvard Law School, graduating in 2005 with a Juris Doctor Cum Laude.

[9] He received his Reserve Naval Officer’s commission and assignment to the Judge Advocate Generals Corps (JAG) in 2004 at the U.S. Naval Reserve Center in Dallas, Texas, while still a student at Harvard Law School.

[10] He completed Naval Justice School in 2005.

[11] Later that year, he received orders to the JAG Trial Service Office Command South East at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, as a Prosecutor.

[12] In 2006, he was promoted from Lieutenant, Junior Grade to Lieutenant. He worked for the Commander of Joint Task Force-Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO), working directly with detainees at the Guantanamo Bay Joint Detention Facility.

[13] In 2007, he reported to the Naval Special Warfare Command Group in Coronado, California, where he was assigned to SEAL Team One anddeployed to Iraq with the Troop surge as the Legal Advisor to the SEALCommander, Special Operations Task Force-West in Fallujah.

[14] He returned to the U.S. in April 2008, at which time he was reassigned to the Naval Region Southeast Legal Service.

[15] The U.S. Department of Justice appointed him to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Florida.

[16] He was assigned as a Trial Defense Counsel until his honorable discharge from active duty in February 2010.

[17] He concurrently accepted a reserve commission as a Lieutenant Commander in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the US Navy Reserve.

[18] He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.

He wasn’t a SEAL, just the attorney for them.

This is correct and I don't recall he's ever claimed otherwise.

Nonetheless, if you're going to be attached to a SEAL team in any capacity, you'd better be in shape as they get to pick and choose who gets to tag along with them.

I like DeSantis, but I do NOT like his Ivy league pedigree. That is a mark against him in my book.

I received this essay as an email a few days ago and felt compelled to respond to my FRiend in this way:

“Don’t get me wrong - Ron DeSantis is the best “thing” to happen to Florida and the USA, after DJT, of course!

“HST, he is NOT a Seal - the email author does not have his/her facts straight re: DeSantis being a Seal.

“Governor Desantis served as a JAG officer in a Seal unit, and when you see his uniform picture, he is wearing JAG insignia, not the Seal Trident.

“I don’t mean to diminish his service, but his being a full-blown Seal is not accurate. I am sure he worked out with them, and is probably an “honorary” Seal, but he is not the Real Deal Seal.

“Have you ever wondered why a Seal unit would need a Jag officer? Seals break things and kill people - they need a lawyer for that?”

[DeSantis is] like a blooming rose in our party. That’s the good news. The bad news is how his opponent came within a whisker of defeating him. That tells you enough about the voters.

It shouldn't tell you enough about the voters, it should tell you enough about the press. The News Misleadia made sure to fail to investigate Gillum, who, when he lost, had these tidbits emerge:

[Gillum], Former Tallahassee Mayor And Gubernatorial Candidate Charged With Conspiracy, Wire Fraud, And Making False Statements

...and...

Police find naked Andrew Gillum, in possession of methamphetamine and in hotel room with overdosed male prostitute.

A man I know, super-liberal, says he was in Trump's college class. He says he always knew Donald to be a dull knife in the drawer.

My response is succinct: "Who, of the two of you, managed to become President of the United States?"

This needs to be corrected by DeSantis or Geller because politically it could be used against him. Even though he did not make the claim he needs to distance himself from it. He was attached to the teams which is something to be proud of in itself.

People who provide technical and administrative support to the Teams are normally heavily vetted. SpecOp in general treat their support staff far better than other elite groups like say pilots. You are treated like part of the team. Non-operators who served with the teams can even join the UDT-SEAL Association.

Impressive that he managed to navigate all that Ivy League education and come out a common sense conservative.

That makes him part of the Swamp. There is no escaping this. He is part of the Swamp.

—————————————————————————

So? What is your solution? To bring in an outsider? Someone with no political experience?

Guess what? We tried that. And the swamp ate him alive.
